And this is fine for an in game reason to not add male viera. However, if they actually wanted to they could have changed any part of that and just saw "Male viera leave the forest and only return to mate before disappearing again".

This is not a matter of "they don't exist in lore" this is completely a matter of "they didn't want male viera, and made up lore to justify it". Which understandably makes people pissed.

What if the reason why they made it so young male and female Viera look so similar lore wise, was so they wouldn't have to make models for ANY male Viera, they could just use one child model. Yoshi must really dislike bunny boys.

It was stated how there are differences in each universe for each race. I didn't see any lore about female Hrothgar in Eorzea. Nobody did.

There isn't any lore for male hrothgar either, so by your own arguments they shouldn't be in game at all.

If fans can't respect the lore then just remove Viera all together, I refuse to see Male Viera by the hundreds in this game when lore states nobody has ever seen one. They are NEVER-EVER seen, unlike the male Miqote. This community today... wow! Pleas hiding behind notions of right and wrong to fulfill self-centeredness. Sick.

SE, please stick to your guns on this one. Don't give in. The lore is really important to some of us and it could be immersion breaking.

I invoke the Blood Elves from WoW card.
A race essentially almost extinct LOREWISE (like the humans should be in that universe tbh) and yet they're one of the most populous races in the game thanks to the players.

The lore argument doesn't stand a chance. Like the many excuses given on a number of things.*cough* Blue Mage *cough*

The lore has its importance, but it's not a good enough excuse for this matter.

There are so many problems with the lore in this game that this shouldn't even be a issue. We have WHMs everywhere, male mi'qos, car mounts, a NieR raid coming, and so many other things like the Yokai events and Strife clothing....
This is a theme-park game. The devs are well within their right to disregard or edit lore at their whim and often do so, so the 'lore' excuse is complete bull.

I agree, they should stick to their guns like they promised after 1.0 and the backlash about no male miqo'te, that they'd never genderlock races again.

In that case, they should stick to their guns and add female Ronso Hrothgar since female Ronsos Hrothgar were always present in FFX.

i will say, if they were going to add an extra gender, it should probably be hrothgar, since there is no lore about them, and it has the potential to be a more unique race than male vierra would probably be.

at the end of the day, races are a signifigant addition in costs of development, and costs ingame (more memory/textures/unique information loaded per charachter) So they are going to have to choose, no matter how you slice it some people will miss out
