Am I the only one somewhat pleased by Dancer?

I'm super stoked for Dancer personally. Played one forever in FFXI and was begging for it to be brought here for years. I can understand folks wanting another healer. That's honestly a valid criticism imo. However, I've always been of the mind that Dancer should be a DPS with support skills, if introduced to FFXIV.

Hopefully 6.0 (or 5.5) will see a new healer coming down the pipeline though. People who like to heal are long overdue for a new job to play with.

Given the thread's query of "Am I the only one?", OP clearly sees that a lot of people unhappy. Mayhap allow this thread to allow him to find likeminded folks who are also happy.

I guess you must have missed the fact that this thread was meant to be passive aggressive towards people who are unhappy with the current changes coming to the game. As well as to make the original poster feel like his opinion has more value than others, I mean the meme didn't give it away at all.

I'm actually happy too! I got used to the idea that it would be a healer, but the more I think of it, the more it makes sense for DNC to be a backline support. Supports, having only 2 options (I'm hesitant to put them in the same bag as DPS) deserved a new job as much as healers and tanks. And if this prompts the devs to put more thought into the MCH rework, ALL the better. If DNC and the new MCH are being developed at the same time, there's hope that MCH will benefit from any modern ideas, mechanics and QoL solutions DNC may be introducing.

But the main reason this makes me happy is because this means we're going to get a healer in 6.0, guaranteed. And I really really hope it's Chemist, which I think would be a MUCH better healer candidate. If Dancer had taken the healer spot now... we'd have to wait a long time for a job that actually makes sense being one.

I'll be sticking with SCH and MCH and adding GUN to my main character's repertoire, and probably make DNC my alt's main job. So... my plans remain unchanged. In the end, I believe they made the right role choices for both GUN and DNC. I can deal with no new healers in 5.0 if this makes a magitek-based healer in 6.0 that much more likely.

To be honest, that announcement made my night. After announcing the DC split, the Neir raid that I still have no interest in, and a few other things I was ready to call ShB the worst expansion the game had before it even launched. After coming to an acceptable plan for the DC split and hearing DNC being a ranged physical, I'm looking forward to it again. Being a MCH main, this works out well for me. I main DNC in XI so I was really wanting it here, and this way I can play DNC without having to sacrifice MCH while I do it.

Yes!! When they showed that concept video I was so surprised! Best plot twist of the century! So many people assumed and I guess I believed their assumptions and so I was so impressed and cannot wait! Plus that outfit is amazinggggg

I would rather it be a supportive healer giving out buffs and heals but I am more happy it is just in the game.
