As an FYI they said they had to rework how gear works when they implemented Viera. It's been well known that heels were a sticking point, I'm assuming they fixed this so the dancer flat foot is just one type of shoe, you'll be able to get them standing up on heels too.
And as a bonus maybe we'll get a butt slider?

I expect other races to get better heel options as well.

I wasn't sure till read this thread thought i have a look.
If you watch the trailer you will see she has heels on her shoes 4:54 minutes in the video. Its not stiletto but modest size heel for dancing.

Didn't actually mention anything about footwear.

Heels already exist in game you know? The Eastern socialite shoes are the tallest ones currently. The way gear works in this game it's just completely replacing the body part and takes skin color to fill a dye channel so no reason they can't exist

In the Tokyo keynote, they specifically pointed out the heads that are unique for the two new races (probably something to do with redesigning head gears), not Viera's heels.
