You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.
no male viera because of lore
the same lore that says beast races aren't allowed in the city states
This is not how designing an AAA game usually works. Choices like this are not driven by artists, but by suits.I think their way of handling it is utterly silly, but in the end, they design the game, and then bring it to market. As a work of art, the producers of it will have their preferences on what they put in it and how to present it. They are perfectly entitled to do that, and of course people are perfectly free to reject the product. I don't quite see there being huge demand for Hrothgar in the way they've been added, and monitoring the active figures a few months in will probably be highly revealing.
But either way, no matter how you justify the decision, the way they handled revealing the information was definitely poor.
The backlash is going to be real. Now that we have confirmation on the gender locks, and it's not longer speculation, there are going to be rage posts everywhere. This entire Keynote has resulted in a disappointed Zugz. A silver lining is that I'm not longer on the edge of my seat stressing for Shadowbringers. Now, I'm more than happy with just waiting until it gets here. Unless there is some super secret, amazeballs-level reveal (Geomancer) between now and Sunday, this expansion is BFA 2.0 as far as I'm concerned.
Could be that, not like it's ever stopped them from genderlocking a race because of stupid reasons either - like how female highlanders are supposed to stay at home.
Please link me a timestamp where they say "Hrothgar are literally an exact copy of the Ronso from Final Fantasy X". From what I saw, they share nothing except the name, and that is only in another dimension.
