Sorry, could you rephrase that first line? I'm not sure what you're referring to as 'not harmless' in this situation.Eh it's not harmless at that level since Toto-rak is still a bit of an early dungeon
Besides Toto-rak is a level 24-27 dungeons which is 3 levels before getting a job crystal but I doubt that is the issue
At least it's not a lv 43 archer in Dzamael Darkhold who told me he is too lazy to equip his crystal or the level 43 lancer in Stone Vigil who was doing less damage than my freakin malefic spell on my AST
Yes, the lack of a job stone obviously isn't an issue here. It was the lack of everything besides Heavy Shot and Bloodletter. Just adding VB to that would be a 15% increase, not to mention the crit buff from SS, and RS.
But yeah agreed, 40+ stoneless classes are always such a sad thing to encounter.
To be fair, if the mobs were dying really fast, then I can understand why the ARC didn’t DoT them. No point when you get 5 seconds out of the 18 Venomous Bite lasts. In lower dungeons, if things are dying before I get even half of the value of my DoTs, I won’t use them. Better to just HS spam at that point—especially since you won’t have songs to get procs from anyways.Sorry, could you rephrase that first line? Yeah, that's a fair point. I don't usually bother DoTing really fast dying enemies either. But this was a thing on everything, bosses included. And enemies weren't dying especially fast either. I'd usually get full to almost full duration on 2 Combusts on at least one mob in a pack, same duration as VBite. To be fair, if the mobs were dying really fast, then I can understand why the ARC didn’t DoT them. No Quick Nock either btw, even when the tank pulled big (I then mentioned to him, that we had one DPS with no AoE (DRG), and the other wasn't using it, so might not be worth it to do that, which he thankfully agreed with).
If they were living long enough, then yeah, they should have used the DoT. If the tank pulled more than 3 mobs, then they should have Quick Nocked (it’s not a gain until 3+ because TP cost, so you wouldn’t use it at just 2 mobs). And the DoTs should have been up on the boss.Yeah, that's a fair point. I don't usually bother DoTing really fast dying enemies either. But this was a thing on everything, bosses included. Ughh...
Y'know,I always try my best not to assume the worst in people as much as I can,but the two cases today(specifically the second one not so much the first one) upsets me so much to the point that I couldn't but turn off my ps4 and put the game down for a bit
First off is a levelling roullette where I queued as a SAM,i get Gubal Library(Normal) with a warrior,a white mage and a black mage
The BLM was new to the dungeon and more than once he tried to ask about mechanics but the tank kept pulling as soon as he enters every boss room over and over.
The BLM dies and this is where I found out someone fed him a false information about dying as he went back to the start after a minute thinking there is a res limit. It doesn't help that the WHM we had never rezed this entire run....not even once. Not when the BLM died and not when the mobs killed me as the tank never bothered to get aggro away from me when he lost it after the first boss.
In the case of the first boss I literally DPSed that thing alone and it was so painfully slow.We get to the second boss, the BLM posts in chat about wanting to knoq mechs....tanks pulls again anyway, thankfully this wasn't as painful as the tethers went to me and I knew how to handle those.
I keep telling the tank to stop and let me explain mechs and he replies with either "it's eaaaasy" or "i don't care" until i told him "hey if u don't wipes by the gallon on bibliograph later...stop turbo pulling and let us explain the mechs
Eventually we cleared it but.....I had no idea the worst has yet to come
I queue for alliance raid as SAM again cuz I wanted to get exp and of course.... it's Dun Scaith of all things.
We get this monk who I won't even try to describe cuz I might lose myself and and say something foul.
That monk insta pulled each and every boss up until Scatach, kept bragging how he finished a 1000 raid and how he can "lol monk tank ffw"
He kept griefing the entire raid in chat and it became an absolute shit storm that 4 people left during Deathgaze after 2 wipes and 2 in Ferdiad after 2 wipes there too(and with our tank in alliance A giving up and leaving in the middle of proto ultima that makes it 7 )....all in which the monk insta pulled and never allowed the healers, dps or tanks to even prepare. It didn't even help that the poor new fellas we had were caught in the shitstorm as the veterans kept blaming them for "not watching a guide" and kept shouting "this is FFXIV,either come already knowing the raid or you'll kill us".
This chaos continued until after we defeated Proto ultima that Alliance C finally..... FINALLY decided to vote kick the monk for harassment and the run continued somewhat normally. But by that point I was so frustrated and upset that my mind sort of blacked out and I kept dying to really stupid stuff on Scatach.
I turned the game off as soon as I LB3ed Diabolos Hollow and finished dun scaith. And stupidly forgetting to blacklist and report the monk in my frustration
I never raged like this in all of my 1500 hours playing this game, but it had to happen at some point and sadly that was today.
Like I said I try,I really really try my best to not assume the worst in people cuz it's not a healthy mentality to just assume that every one u meet in online games are griefers and jerks but then u get people like this that just makes it harder and harder to explain that not everyone in this community is like this.
ugh.....just.....UGH

Did an Orbonne earlier today, and got a SAM who got mad because they didn't do Agrias' Divine Rumination mechanic correctly and died (they didn't have a Tether but stood with the tethers anyways, and didn't pop the shield action). They were like, "Bruh you gotta heal me". So I responded with "Bruh you gotta stop standing in stuff". He'd already died 3 times since the raid started because he kept eating AOEs...and idk, it just really irritated me him getting salty in chat when I'd been babysitting him the entire time.
Don't blame the healer for your inability to dodge and do mechanics correctly. Especially since you were almost being outDPS'd by said healer before you died (and outDPS'd after you died).
He continued to eat AOEs in TGC and Ultima despite the mounting damage/vulns/deaths.

This happened yesterday, but I decided to queue SCH in Toto-Rak to practice since I'm trying to decide which healer I like best and I healed SCH like maybe once? I have AST at 47, WHM at 53, so I know what to do and decided to queue low because better safe than sorry. So it's SCH, GLA, NIN, and I think BRD? I don't remember, but it's inconsequential.
So anyway, being the good person I am, I let the party know that I'm practicing and to bear with me. The tank also mentions that they were practicing and to bear with them. And the NIN immediately leaves. Like... what? You didn't even give us a chance. A new DPS joined shortly thereafter, but I was like, come on... The run went completely fine and the tank did a wonderful job. I was still in awe that they'd rather take the penalty than just go with it.
I got told to "stop attacking" in expert roulette today because I kept ripping aggro off the Warrior on bosses.
Who was in Deliverance 99% of the time. (and pretty sure used no or minimal aggro combos)
After I used Diversion on the opener. (and on CD every time it was back up.)
AND used Lucid every time I was about to/ or rippred aggro again and still caught back up.
You'd think some tanks were allergic to the concept of aggro. Thankfully he didn't roll on the alliance ring of fending so I finally completed the fending set from there. mob packs were okay but I still stole the occasional one, since Overpower spam still nets good aggro even in Deliverance.
