Yoshida stated he regrets not looking into the feedback in time due to his travels. Chances of the White Raven situation happening again are low.If the Statue Emotes were promised to stay exclusive then they should stay as such. Same thing with the White Raven earrings.
The issue here is that we now have a prededent set by Yoshida and SE to not expect any of the promises to be upheld given the broken 1.0 promise with the White Ravens. Chances are further down the line they might bring them back to cash shop to correspond with their nature of being actual bought items.

There is no promise of exclusivity when it comes to some of the items, like the emotes on the statues. The issue for some items are the exclusivity of the physical items (like said statues). The emotes are a bonus to an exclusive item. If they want to do things like keep the emotes tied to the statue, filling per order or keeping the items in stock would be nice.If the Statue Emotes were promised to stay exclusive then they should stay as such. Technically, the statue does not even say it is of limited stock or exclusive. However, the Odin and Shiva statues no longer being stocked, we know Ultima will end up the same way.

Were many of the merchandise items promised to be exclusive? I remember the statues were supposed to be Square Enix Store exclusive and I think the pre order items were said to be exclusive (along with certain physical Collector’s Edition items), but I don’t remember the other bonus codes stated to be exclusive.
The idea here was to ask for a poll for the people who already have the items if they’re fine with them being on the Mog Station. I personally already have the Odin statue and pre ordered Ultima, and have bought a lot of other merch (3 plushes, 4 soundtracks, both soundtracks, pre orders on every expansion, the Amazon items, and other no code items) and would love to see all of it on the Mog Station. I personally don’t like them being locked behind expensive physical merch with codes that eventually expire (so even if you buy older items like the Before Meteor soundtrack, you don’t get the minion anymore). I don’t think having money to burn at the right time is something that deserves exclusivity. However, if enough people did buy specifically for the in game stuff and want to keep it exclusive, it would be unfair to them to make it available on the Mog Station. And there might be a case where say statue owners don’t want the emotes available, but soundtrack owners don’t care if the minions are and the Amazon mount plus glamour gear people want the stuff on the Mog Station.
Then there’s also the 1.0 stuff. That went beyond just buying an item, it also involved buying a bad game with no guarantee it would ever be good. There’s much more meaning behind those, but again, if the majority of them don’t care about the exclusivity, there’s not much reason to keep it exclusive.
I bought all three of the statues, primarily for the emotes. I'm happy to throw money at such things whether they're on the Mog Station or part of a promotion. I do think a solid compromise would be to ensure that all merchandise related codes are available permanently. That way if people really want a specific emote, minion or some such and it's tied to merchandise they can save up over time and not have to worry about missing out if money is tight at the time of their initial launch.
Sadly as a pair of earrings proved those that have will throw a fit even more so than those that would like to have. I'm surprised how no one cared about the butler/maid outfits because they added a word to the name, so why not call them "replica" or something for 1.0 items? Besides, I'm pretty sure most people with 1.0 (or the CE) stuff never even give it the time of day and it just sits in a retainer and collects e-dust.
To be fair about the earrings, they weren’t just a random exclusive item, they were essentially the only reward to clearing the final raid in 1.x. You had to not only have of bought and played 1.0, but gotten to cap, geared up, found a group, and learned and beat one of the hardest fights in the game, in a bad, dying game with a relaunch that might’ve failed. They were not only a 1.0 sign, but a sign of someone having cleared 1.0 endgame, at least iirc). Then they were given out for completing a set of fates during an event, exactly the same. Those had to be earned and could only be gotten by people willing to sink time and money into 1.0.Sadly as a pair of earrings proved those that have will throw a fit even more so than those that would like to have. Meanwhile, the merch item codes are gotten by having money to spare when the merch comes out. They aren’t earned and only represent you bought merch. I personally love the merch and have money for it. However, I don’t think me having money at the right time means I did anything to earn them and absolutely wouldn’t mind seeing them on the Mog Station. Heck, I wouldn’t even mind them being earnable in game (or having something like WoW Tokens that can be sold for gil and redeemed for currency). But that’s just me.
If something is exclusive, or even heavily implied to be exclusive, then it shouldn't end up on the mogstation.
As far as I'm concerned; if SE was selling items that were limited in supply or only gave players a limited time window to purchase said items, then the value of said items are intrinsically tied to the scarcity of them. With that said, the scarcity value of said items or emotes needs to be considered when deciding if or when to introduce more of said items into the market (thus lowering the scarcity of the items in question and diminishing their monetary value).
If SE was using the scarcity value of these items to sell them in the first place, "Limited supply!" or "Buy now before it's too late!", then it would be pretty sleazy, in my opinion, to bring these limited time only items back and put them for sale on mogstation.
For those unfamiliar with the concept of scarcity value, I've provided a basic definition of it below. Courtesy of Wikipedia.
"Scarcity value is the economic factor that increases an item's relative price based upon artificially low supply. Whereas the prices of newly manufactured products depends mostly on the cost of production (the cost of inputs used to produce them, which in turn reflects the scarcity of the inputs), the prices of many goods—such as antiques, rare stamps, and those raw materials in high demand—reflects the scarcity of the products themselves."
If you completed a quest prior to the change to selling items on the mogstation you can get items there. Like the Christmas items for the first year. I didnt complete it because I did a dumb. So I cant buy the stuff. But this year, on some servers, our very awesome fellow players that had were buying items and putting them up on the auction house for a loss so people could get them. All my alts thank you.
I can buy the swimsuits I already have there on my main, but my alts who were created after can not.
