Yeah its super fast, but just to be clear when I say power level I mean the old fashion power level where a friend follows you around and kills stuff for you.

In northern thanalan I power leveled a few blue mages in about an hour as they tagged stuff.

You do that by having them not in the group and hitting a monster, then your level 70 friend blows them to bits. Have a chocobo out for extra exp for your bird .

Tip: life is easier with fish toss, it's one of your ranged instant cast spells. Easy tagging that way, can learn the fish toss from the little green penguins south of Costa del sol.

Leveling is fast in general but not an hour fast without help. You'll definitely want 1k needle as soon as you can if trying to solo level.

Also you might know already but you can buy free teleport tickets with allied seals real cheap, minions, and some other stuff like mount speed maps for 1.0/2.0 areas.

If you really want to push BLU's AoEing capabilities to the limits, there's a pirate ship you can access via the Sahagin dailies that has a ton of NPCs split off into two groups on opposite sides of the ship.

I was able to grind from 44-50 in a little under a hour by burning those guys down mostly with the Ram's/Dragon's Voice combo (Make the most of the initial lengthy freeze and remember to Bristle before Dragon's Voice if you want to kill them before they become immune).

Ah okay that makes sense; and thank you for all the advice. I might have to level it simply because of my OCD getting annoyed by the lv0 thing on the character panel. XD

Oh nice, thanks for the tip! I haven't worked much on that faction so might be an incentive to get back to it.

It's actually pretty quick to level if you use Squadron EXP manuals and food exp boost, plus the earring if you got that. Just chain enemies around your level or a couple higher. (You can even do enemies 5 or more levels higher at lower levels!) I found it pretty fun collecting the spells. (I still need to collect the level 50 ones but I'm busy leveling my other jobs now. Need those sweet orange numbers!)

The simple act of levelling up is a 45 minute side activity. Not a lot of reason NOT to.
It’s the skills that’s the real grind.

Sylplands is where I went using the same strategy, things died quick and with little risk even if I only quickcast 1000 needles. Kill 20-25 enemies per level, which wasn't as bad as so many make it sound.

I really need to pay more attention to my squadron I think. o.O

Well then, guess I'll have to pick up Blue Mage at some point! As long as its levelled I shouldn't be bothered about the numbers. XD

Haha yes! You can get some useful stuff. A weekly mission reward for high level Squadrons is EXP manuals, they give 15% bonus, it doesn't stack with the 10% FC one sadly, but it's still an extra 5%. You can get a stack of 10 a week for the harder mission, or 5 for a lower level one.

I say if you have spare time or are bored go for it.
Just know there is not much to do that has not already been done once you hit 50.
Masked carnivale is good for seals like you have said
