I dont mind them putting that stuff on there.

My Namingway from EE1 was unable to be redeemed, squenix cant seem to figure out what promo items should be permanently valid and which just expire.

If people want to spend nonsense amounts of $ on emotes, they might as well let them.

I would love to see the old pre-order items made available. Make the earrings "replicas" that don't give EXP if they don't want to make that bonus purchaseable.

Obviously there needs to be a long exclusive period - whether that should be one expansion or two - but it's a shame for things to be lost forever.

Physical pre-order bonuses would continue to exist, and be available second-hand for new people discovering the series if the original owners no longer want them, but the digital items are lost forever.

The Baron earrings are beautiful and I've only ever seen one person wearing them.

(Also there is a very limited choice of nice level 1 earrings - as I discovered when that fancy new aetheryte earring wouldn't take any of the ones I'd placed on my glamour plates. Thee are the plain gold weathered earrings (not even a choice of silver) and all those novelty mascot ones, but nothing nice unless I want to pay for the old seasonal items.)

But as people go “me too” we end up with heavily skewed results.

Limited or exclusive items should remain as such. For many, that was their selling point. ‘Gotta buy now before it’s too late!’
Don't think it matters really. Think if you bought the merchandise you should get it free & have it for long period of time before any option be sold on the mog station. Since most of the early codes have limited time run there is a huge less incentive to buy any old merchandise now from them. As for those statues and anything $100+ really should have no limit on the code for the emote.

Also consider adding some kind Square Enix point rewards for XIV. When you buy merchandise from Square Enix you're given tons of Sqaure Enix points. They would tie in some kinda XIV reward with that. This also includes buy games from Square Enixs store.

that what is my thought too problem is that a large number people cant accept that they can't get something and start crying about it.

I’m pretty sure Square Enix can check who has the code registered on their account or who bought the merchandise through their store. I’m suggesting only people who have the stuff already on their account vote.

I don't mind exclusives remaining exclusives as long as there is a reasonable alternative that is available to everyone (either through in-game activities or the cash shop). However some items are just too unique to stay exclusive forever. The one I personally have pined for is the flying cumulus mount. For a long time it was the only mount which is unobtrusive, works well with long skirts (i.e. doesn't have anything between the rider's legs) and displays the character in a natural pose. However it was only available on Amazon for a two-week period which occurred before I even started playing, and it was only available in the US, so I never even had the chance to get it. The recently added Ozma mount available in the Baldesion Arsenal shares these qualities, so now I can try to get that instead.

What is it that such exclusives are supposed to accomplish anyway? If I see a cool mount or piece of armor on someone, I might be excited at the prospect of getting one for myself. It can act as motivation to do the content where that item drops, or drive sales in the cash shop. This is good. But if I discover that the item was an exclusive and is forever unavailable to me, the excitement turns into jealousy, resentment and frustration. I do not think those are emotions a video game publisher should seek to enkindle in their audience.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

While I don't care for pricing of most items on there, I don't care if the 'limited' items show up on there either. I have a negative disposition towards limited availability items because they eat up space on everyone's devices, even if the person storing the info for those items does not have access to use them on their own characters. It's just a game and if people are storing it, let their characters have access to it via one method or another. Instead of permanent merchandise tie-in s, just give the first couple runs of merchandise have a 3-ish month buffer before releasing the digital only direct purchase code. Less waste if someone doesn't have a desire for the physical item that way.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

I don't mind things like the emotes tied to the statues, items tied to CDs or plushies, etc., being separated and sold as a separate item in the MogStation. I've bought the statues, CDs, books and plushies. The emotes, furniture, scrolls and minions are a BONUS - you got them for free with another item you bought.

Why not? A quick currency conversion places $200 at £151. Given that you're primarily paying for the statue, it isn't a bad deal at all.
