What I want for them to do with their Eureka content in 5.0 is let it stand on its own feet. Don't tie relics to it. If it's such fantastic content, they won't need a gimmick to get people to go there. And if it can't stand on its own feet, then maybe that should be telling them something.

I personally hate the content. If I wanted to play EQ, I would be back playing EQ. It's been hard not to get my relic, but the only thing I could do is help affect their numbers by not participating.

Basically with that argument you're saying that anything that gets tied to the relic can't stand on its own. whether it's running dungeons 100 times or doing Eureka.

The past relic steps had more variety. There may have been a step or two in each that always required fates or required a primal run, but there wasn't any one thing or instance that all progression was tied to. There are people who only do Eureka because SE put the relic McGuffin there. I want to see them remove the McGuffin and then see how it does. If the content is that amazing, they won't need to make it the only path to a highly desired item intended to be the pinnacle weapon for the casual playerbase. It's especially a slap in the face there because Eureka is about as anti-casual as you can get.

What is Eureka? I tried once and get lost inside, utterly confounded. If they added a 'must have' items inside, I would be extremely disappointed.

They did mention it's not for casuals and they decided to put the relic there. Not because the relic is what will keep it alive, but becasue like FF3, Eureka is the place that you obtain the best weapons from. If it is true that the relic is what's keeping Eureka standing, then naturally you'd see less people doing it after a while. Anemos should be a barren land now with only the new players. Pagos would be flat out empty. Furthermore, the number of players actively doing Eureka should be far less than those doing the previous relics, which isn't the case despite the old style having more than 2 years of a lead over Eureka and yet in some regions Eureka had more participants. So for SE, that's an improvement to the previous style. They would naturally continue on it in 5.0 with another improvement and see how well it will compare to 4.0.

They aren't the best weapons. The best come from Savage and Ultimate. It makes no sense to put the casual endgame weapon in a zone that isn't intended for casuals.

I think disappointing that they tied for the progress on The Relic to logo grams set a reminder, whereas you need to unlock this mini logogram in order to further progress getting those logogram memes simple yes not easy though unless you want to spend time or spend a whole lot of gil. Of course shpuldnt be very easy it is a relic after all, with me I probably won't see a Eureka what Relic probably certainly not before shadowbringers drops. I'm probably better off going for the 405 alphascape weapon/armor.

They are on equal level to the raid savage weapon in previous iterations (at the end of the expansion though). And lore wise they are described in each iteration as being the most powerful fabled weapons you can obtain, hence the purple background for them. Also, the current Eureka relics can easily surpass the raid weapons and ultimate weapons if you're lucky. Mine currently not only has better stats than my Omega weapon, it's better than an ultimate level weapon (with 5 extra substats lol).

Eureka: I hated it when it first came out ... I still hate Pagos, but the rest is actually enjoyable for me. I feel that if they change the rate of light gathering to something more tolerable and not require 31 lights for 1 part of the relic grind. If it is 31 lights for the entire relic from point A to point D, then that is ok (with other steps included of course). I would also change the way the rarer Mnemes drop. Instead of keeping them behind the lock box RNG.

Just finished pyros. Spent maybe playing 7 days over the course of 4 weeks. So far the majority of it is waiting for NM to spawn. Terrible design.

The maps look like someone went into map editor and spammed monsters in random spots. Like they clicked and held down the mouse button around the map.

You look at games like guild wars 2 and see how each cave is unique and has a purpose. You go into pyros lava mountain and it’s like someone just spammed enemies around. It’s all empty hallways of random monsters.

I think the devs attempted to do something new with diadem 2.0 where they had monsters fight each other.

Now that I think about it I don’t think anything they change will help Eureka because the games core combat is dull.

I hope they rework the combat in 5.0, but I don’t think that will happen.
