Can we report the Baldesion Arsenal discord group?

Hiya! I'm one of the admins on the Aether BA discord (I made the queue bot, Meka!). I'm sorry to hear that this happened, and I'd love to look into this further so it doesn't again. Harassment isn't cool for any reason. We have strict policies in place to prevent people from being jerks ingame (implemented since 2/19/2019, as seen below) :



In addition, we also added a rule against MPKing people after we had an incident of that as well:

It's always possible that this never happened and it's just someone stirring up trouble, but better safe than sorry. I hope your friend returns to the game and continues to enjoy their time in the wonderful world of FINAL FANTASY.

Uh, what? We have a case here - hypothetical or not - in which people, players, responded very badly to a player engaging the game in a way SE allows if not outright intended. Those people displayed rude entitlement on account of belonging to a premade, if not to the discord. I agree that wanting the entire server banned is a bit much but SE didn't force people to start harassing "snipers", even when we're repeatedly established that's 1. not often the case, 2. a community thing not everyone adhere to if they're even aware of.
The complaint that at least started this thread is the toxic behavior of individuals from the discord. SE's badly designed content didn't force them to behave the way they did. Be annoyed, be frustrated, even convey that much to the 'sniper' - sure. But there's a line that shouldn't be crossed. Throwing all the responsibility for people's behavior on SE's design is.... a bit much.

Doesn't matter dude, your previous comment kinda shows what you're all about. If that's how your discord group thinks - then yeah, you expect people to take part in that? Can you blame the more causal of players being uncomfy in engaging with you? I hope no discord group that is currently running around in Eureka shares this kind of thought process.

I'm on the Aether BA Discord. Stanelis is harsh, but his or her points mirrors that of Aether.
In cases where someone new ends up in a Ozma prog or clear by accident, the groups I have been in will invite you in. As long as you contribute, everyone is accepted. Stalkers and contrarians being the exceptions. However, if in said Ozma group you die before reaching AV, you are not likely to get a Sacrifice. Especially if you're DPS. It happened to me when I dc'd and died during the portal rooms and I accepted the fact that I'm not getting up and stayed to keep the LB3 open. It's just the nature of it all.

To help with the progression disparity between players, the discord invites and hosts various learning parties to help people get familiar with the fights and get fragments for their elemental gear. That's how I did it and that's how most people on the discords expect you to do. We're accommodating to an extent, but certain consequences like not getting sacrifice is always present.

This seems a little odd to me but AFAIK you can't Return while dead and that would be the only way to get out of the Arsenal and back to base camp where you could shout for a res.
Waiting out the instance timer on BA would boot you out too i believe but since they cleared AV it's most likely that the 10min res timer would run out before then.

Been trying to figure how best to word this so here goes;

I find it odd that the thing your friend OP that they got upset about was not the toxic insulting behavior (that they are claiming no proof after all so everything is a grain of salt on both ends here) but the rather mundane nope not ressing them at no point is anyone forced to raise anybody in BA and the discord group merely weighed up the option of risking not only remembered procs on their healers but whether or not your friend might wipe them on Ozma since they died to AV.

To add your friend's story is inconsistent with the BA rules they would have had their return to start timer run out before the instance timer would time out as killing AV gives more time than the return to start timer is, so there is no way they could be back at camp dead and needing a raise if the BA group had killed AV, I also find it highly unlikely that the entire 89 other people in the instance would be bleep enough not to raise someone, your friend is actively painting a worse image than what actually happened and you by extension by posting this on the forums.

Not like it matters because by your logic them going in for the first time to just try it is almost offensive in your eyes; to the organised groups. And while they may go in with every single intention to pull their own weight, to you they're just there to be carried and to leach. So, instead of showing a more positive outlook about it - you're basically hostile towards them. What kind of image does that paint when you have the premade discord group being hostile and then telling them to 'join a premade/discord group' when all they've seen is the discord group being hostile? You get threads like this and people complaining about the discord groups which make people even less likely to join them.

I am very much in agreement here if what is said is true that behavior was wrong and should've been reported to both gms and if possible to the BA discord mods but the former most assuredly takes precedent. Just because you organised stuff doesn't give you the right to chastise anyone in a public setting nor is a group forced to obey what a single person wants respect for your fellow players always works both ways

I'm more than happy if the group is accommodating and is willing to accept them; that's how it should be. It's no fault of your own if they don't accept that - and I can see why you would be irritated as it can easily cause a wipe. My gripe is when that olive branch isn't extended and then there's hostility. Part of me wants it to be made up and someone is just fabricating a story so people scowl at discord groups. But I'm sure everyone here knows that there's always going to be a bad egg who will be that guy, lose their cool after waiting for 30+ mins to get a portal only to lose it.

I don't expect people to be raised due to the cost of the raise; I also don't expect someone to bend over backwards - it's just the simple gesture of extending the invitation without hostility. From what I've seen most people have experienced this nice gesture - but if this thread and others are to be believed; welp, bad eggs.

Yea, I get that, and I don't know if I just have thicker skin than most, but I don't really think telling someone "you sniped a portal" or "we're not going to heal you because you sniped us" qualifies as harassment or anything. It isn't nice of course, but the situation itself isn't a nice one. If they were calling the person stupid or trying to insult them in other ways, yea, that's uncalled for. But pointing out to the person that they screwed up a run that people were planning for probably over an hour or so is completely reasonable in my opinion.
