Why do you dislike longer hairstyles and race un-locked hairstyles so much, Square?

I wish. But realistically, we probably won’t ever get that until the day they decide to stop making content for FFXIV and move on to Final Fantasy 17 as the next online. Can’t be 16, since they said that title won’t be an mmo.

I wonder if longer hairstyles - specifically a large number of players using them on screen at the same time - might be too much for the system to calculate all that movement at once?

Obviously they can do the physics since we have NPCs like Ysayle and Yotsuyu, but in those cases it only has to deal with one character at a time.

They said they don't want to add long hair because the clipping and they can't add enough bones in the hair.

The dream pretty much died their but man.... I feel like they think we're asking for extremely long hair. Au ra female has a long hairstyle and nobody cares if that clips.

Square give us long hairstyle please! Nobody gives a damn if it's not flowing like it's ff15.
Some of us just sick of short hairstyles patch after patch, hell we only got one new long hairstyle in all of SB and it's just a different version of au ra female long style.

But honestly, I given up after 4 years of short to bearly meduim length hair and ponytails.

Evertime they release a new hair im super disappointed. Ive been using thancreds hair for my Hyur male forever since it's pretty much the only good looking hair for it. the Cloud Hair looks good aswell but only a few ppl on the Fanfest got that one sadly.

Part of it might be clipping, and part of it might be the same reason they tend not to add capes. For instance, look at he Samsonian Locks from Palace; it looks less like actual hair and more like wet noodles that have been cut to resemble a hairstyle. Making a longer hairstyle requires of SE too much effort--as they have to create so many "bones" per additional option--when they would rather give more Diadem/Eureka or more cash shop items.
