Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

Got Dun Scaith in roulette with no new player message.
Seventeen people got blown off the ship in one hit.
Seventeen.

Not sure. The other tank refused to tank at all. While I'm all for helping people thru stuff, attempting to force compliance for ANY aspect of the game is huge mash of the 'NO' button for me. If anyone needed guidance they could have asked between wipes instead of trying to trap someone into their tooth-and-claw cheese-thru. Bailing aint great but its available (with penalty) for a reason. They might have gotten another tank prepared to play hero instead of someone just trying to get thru their selected duty.
It's baffling. I've played all the jobs to 70 over the months just to have a grasp of what they can and can't do. And trust me: EVERY SINGLE JOB can AoE properly. Some are better at it than others, but they all have good tools for it.

I got Dun Scaith the other night in roulette and died to that mechanic for the first time ever. I hadn't been in that instance for months and totally forgot that the safe zones created from Blizzard changes from 2 to 1. I was totally on the opposite end of the ship from dodging Aero and stood no chance ;p I wonder if it was the instance you were in, because so many people got blown off, the remaining members of the alliances just hopped off so we could start over lol.

"Something something but single rotation is stronger something something"
Basically it comes down to people not understanding how multiplication works and applying it to potency, from my experience. That or they get too bored to do the AOEs and decide it's more entertaining to slow the party down instead in favor of a slightly more involved rotation

Dark knight not using DA for abyssal drain.
I'm on Singing Clusters for my BRD anima. I queue leveling on DRK, Bardam with 18 min passed. Maybe it's DC I guess. I get in. A single halgai runs my way and we kill it and I ask what's up. I get the return that the tank didn't manage his cooldowns. Considering the Halgai is part of the first mob of the usual double pull and they've managed to down it all I'm at slight mistrust but I see the healer is up to gear so maybe there's a grain of truth in this, maybe he just burned it all in one go or something.
Pull the statues. I'm at the verge of death all the time but I don't mind as long as I don't die and I don't. Same thing on the next mob and the next statues. Alright, we got this. The healer dies to the boss and we wipe. Crap happens I guess but just in case I stay in grit from there on out until the end and damn if I did not regret that decicion. I also point out to the AST that regen sect is quite a lot better for dungeons. He didn't have any class higher than 66 so maybe it's something he never considered since he's been going shields all this time.
I single pull everything and die to the second mob after the boss. CD's are mostly on cooldown but I definitely should not die there especially since I got SW back quickly after pulling it. Get raise, ultimatum, get through. One DPS asks what went wrong. I say could definitely use some more benefics my way. Healer says he lost me as a target while putting up 1 DOT. 1 Wipe on healer, 2 deaths for me.
Single pull stuff after second boss except the matagama (or whatever lizards name was) is right inside the mob so I pull them both. Should be easy, all cooldowns up. Nope, another wipe. At this point I'm positively sure the first tank did nothing wrong. DPS stands too close to it after recoup so I pull it and run it back to the healer and we kill. I notice the healer is in diurnal now but just as I pull the last mob before boss he switches back to shields... Oh well. Onwards to the boss.
Surprisingly we didn't wipe. The healer died towards the end of it, I think during end of wings, and by the time my walking dead ran out the boss was at <5 % and the DPS killed it with LB before it got them. Checking contacts afterwards the healer and one of the dps (not the one who talked to me but one who was silent all this time) were from the same server so probably in premade team. I have not seen more inconsistent healing in all my FFXIV life. Like, I'm honestly fairly sure that some of that healers stuff was broken because essential dignity at 10-20 % of my life was healing me for like 10% or something. I tried paying attention to when it'd go off and it barely tickled my healthbar. 2 wipes, 4 deaths for me total.
1. Don't kick people because of your own incompetence, please. Owning up to your errors makes you a better player.
2. GG, to the tank who I guess got kicked. At least you didn't have to see the end of it and could requeue immediately.
and for something of a personal opinion regarding this:
3. Can we please get rid of durability in 5.0? It's so unnecessary so have to repair your stuff. I see people calling it a gil sink but it's next to free and people not doing it is just screwing up instances.

Today I learned using Rouse turns you. I found this out because Orlando shot me. First time healing that too. I've mostly DPS'd. Didn't get any drops for two weeks so I figured whatever. And of course every boss dropped MCH gear.
Thats excactly what enrage means, not enough dps because of a set time on the encounter has passed and the boss isn't dead yet. Either they just cast X and everyone dies or they do something flashier like gaining damage stacks over time until it just overwhelms you. Wheter it has defense down buffs or not doesnt matter, what is the key is that X amount of time has passed, so boss does Y and kills everyone (or everyone one by one cause of something else).Ehh. That's less an Enrage and more of an inevitability when the dps is low (CAUSE PEOPLE ARE DEAD FROM DOOM AND AERO AND BLIZ3 OMFG). It seems all the actual enrages come with Double-Edge and Growing Threat which buff boss damage but also debuff their defense. In any case I'm really glad they didn't bother for Orbonne. Dark Crusader is close enough to an enrage all on its own.
