I've been noticing a trend lately on the party finder of "Fake farm/fake weekly loot" parties where the PF description says farm yet it turns out it was actually a clear for the guy who put the PF up

I get that sometimes desperation takes over and you want a good party by any means,but its another thing to flatout lie in the description and expect a carry as you proceed to screw each mechanic and never admit to a mistake lest they'd discover you're the one meant by the "one or more party members have yet to complete this duty" notification.

This has been common especially on the latter half of stormblood ex primals and Alphascape savage and it's beyond aggrivating. Like fine I'm ready to carry a person through a fight but I draw the line when I get lied to

So I'm leveling WHM on my alt and a very special someone helps me going in as tank. I queue for 50/60 and we get Snowcloak and we get paired up with a DRG+MCH. She knows about my "make me sweat" policy when I play healer so she does massive pulls. The MCH goes HAM, AoE, buffs, support, everything. It was lovely to watch him. I regen'd the tank and used Holy until my screen was brighter than ten thousand suns. The DRG's TP was at max. You can imagine why.

First boss: DRG doesn't apply dot, doesn't apply debuff, doesn't use Heavy Thrust. Just 1-2-3 combo and sometimes a jump. I called them out: Silence. Surprising huh? Next big pull and we get the same results: DRG won't AoE. Second boss: Same rotation. Next pull after that: No AoE. Final boss: 1-2-3 rotation. Sometimes in between pulls the DRG would stand still without saying a word, not even auto-attacking. The MCH pat'd me because he knew. This DRG person had every job to 70... so I commendated the MCH and left the instance.

I know, it's a level 50 dungeon and not that much effort is required. But 1-2-3 combo, no buffs/debuff and no AoE? That's... bs. I wonder how this person behaves in high level content. I for one, hope that I never see them again.

You could have left between wipes it's not like they can be constantly in combat. I would have waited for the party to wipe then left asap before even ressing myself.

Between wipe and that one guy pulling after the fight resets i had maybe 3 seconds to bring up the instance menu and click abandon duty, which wasn't quite enough, since combat started the very instant before i pressed the button, which left me with the "You cannot abandon duty during combat" message and hair tearing frustration.

Simply put, the pull happened really fast and i couldn't get through the menu quickly enough to get out first.

DPS who won't aoe baffle me.

Because in most if not every case...the aoe rotation is EASIER than the single target rotation. Ther'es less buttons involved usually. I just don't get it.

As far as paladins not being optimal for pulling, sure, but in roulette content it doesn't really matter IMO. Sure if you're doing savage raids/ex primals and want to min max everything to beat enrage timers or make farming faster, sure. But in terms of just getting things done for normal mode raids or trials, it's really not that big of a deal if a paladin pulls the boss.

Just gonna ask did anyone explain the fight at all or did everyone just assume everyone knew what to do? Because it sounds to me like nobody knew what was going on aside from the tank.

we did have one enrage. The first boss of dun scaith (though it was incredibly lenient), but you are right in that we probably will not have more.

Ehh. That's less an Enrage and more of an inevitability when the dps is low (CAUSE PEOPLE ARE DEAD FROM DOOM AND AERO AND BLIZ3 OMFG). It seems all the actual enrages come with Double-Edge and Growing Threat which buff boss damage but also debuff their defense. In any case I'm really glad they didn't bother for Orbonne. Dark Crusader is close enough to an enrage all on its own.
