So you want Square Enix to start describing the reproductive methods of each race to us now? Because that's all gender is. Your gender is your role in reproduction. So to have a genderless race, you would have to know how the race reproduces (so that you'd know that it's genderless), I don't think that SE needs to describe how these races procreate. I don't want to know that part. I just want to log on and play my black mage. Can't I just log on and play my black mage without wondering whether my race is Asexual or not?!

Well... considering the races are listed as female and male and you already have children in the game running around it's easy to deduce how the races reproduce... except Lalafells... we already know they sprout out of the ground like potatoes.

Joking aside I'd rather they stick with the two genders. You need two genders for a race to reproduce / populate a society. You know, unless you're a Lalafell...

A genderless race would not fit with all the various gender locks that are in place in the game.

Plus, it would be annoying if all references to the race have to be ambiguous. The only third person singular pronoun that is genderless in English is "it" and that term is considered impolite to use when referencing a person, as far as I know, while "s/he" is just awkward to use on a regular basis, especially with the possibility of voiced/spoken references.

Yep. There used to be a word for it back in the 1930s, but people didn't like it. The word was "hit" with the H being silent. People grew to dislike being called "it" which is how it was pronounced.

So we don't have a word in English for a singular gender-neutral pronoun. It's not worth the trouble of having a genderless race. I don't want a genderless race. Everything works the way it is. Male + female = child support. simple biology.

So how would this gender-less race work with gender-locked equipment? (Example: High House Bustle/Justaucorps) Would they be capable of wearing neither or both?

While a genderless race could have a positive impact on the game's experience overall, it has to be done in a natural way that makes sense or it will be rejected by the community and/or ignored. Imo, just because "it would be cool" is not enough of a reason to have a genderless race. Whether this race is a monster blob or some androgynous human, it has to be done respectfully to the context of the game and it's playerbase. I just don't want a race to be shoehorned in for inclusivity's sake as that can be insulting to just about everyone when not treated with respect.

(i specifically left out "lore reasons" because I dont think SE really cares about sticking to the lore anymore.)

How does having a genderless race mean SE would have to explain their reproduction to us? That's just silly. It's not like SE already teach us how males and females interact in bed.

Nevermind how with some beast tribes it's not clear which characters are male or female unless you know their names or if they're referred to by he/she, and in the case of the ananta they're all female, which would essentially be the same as genderless as far as reproduction goes.

In short, SE have already done what OP has suggested. And it hasn't caused the community to implode or the game to die.

Well no one would be forcing you to race change, so yes you can log on your character without thinking about their nether regions. Though thinking about that doesn't require your character to be any specific gender.

Bad idea is bad, it would cause more problems for SE and likely open more crap SJWs will try to push on to the game.
