Considering leaving mateus, looking for new non-rp focused NA server

Dead thread but let me be more frank about the reasons people might not want to stick around.

Yesterday we had people advertising themselves as public cum dumpsters in Uldah. Honestly not the only instance of crap that's come over that we didn't have to deal with before. I'm not gonna move since I got a lot tied up in the server already, I just avoid player hubs if I can.

Well since we're bumping this, if that statements the worst you've seen, you should see how other servers are.

Also it's clear people are trolling. If I went on Zalera and did the same thing, would you avoid Zalera like the plague, or report me?

My advice? Do not go to another 'quiet' server. Mateus was chosen by the role-play community to become the second Balmung simply because it was the smallest at the time. Now it risks being locked down in a similar manner to Balmung - and in time I believe that will be the case. At which point a third North American server will be picked by the remnants of the role-playing community as either a temporary or permanent residence. Most likely whichever is the smallest at the time.

As someone who played on Mateus for over 2 years and saw numerous people leave the server because it was deader than dead.
Goodbye and good riddance.
The whining from "native" Mateuses is annoying. They constantly complain about Balmungians and is generally very toxic.

How is OP whining? They're not enjoying their server anymore so they're going to leave. All this thread was for was asking for server recommendations. Everyone else turned it into a whine party.

The point I'm making is that Mateus wasn't like this before. Which is why OP is justified in their dislike of how things have changed.People like that get reported but all new ones keep popping up.Like I said though I just avoid the player hubs the roleplayers hang around, out of sight out of mind.

Kuddos to the OP Siren is okay. Might be better off in Aether Data Centre. A few days ago I was in an RP scene that was headed to ERP. I new nothing about the participants, as in most cases its a matter of good faith. One of the participants said the following:

Mmhmm...anyway, they were part of an FC which I promptly left immediately after that. I told an officer and reported it to a GM. The officer I reported it to was so damn lack luster about the entire thing. I heard nothing from the leader of the FC either. So my conclusion:
The person coded or worded that in such a way as to indicate an inappropriate age for adult activity rp which requires the age of legal consent in the United States of America which varies state by state but in general is around 18 years of age.


Even still in some countries including Japan, the age of consent is 15. But that bids no excuse for what was typed and I do not believe that was a mistake.

Adding to this. As someone who plays on a genuinely not great connection and potato laptop, I have never had a DC from crowds. And I'm talking Ul'dah at high RP time capacity. I lag awfully, yes. But the only DC's I've faced have been from issues from my own end.
