Just what the community in Mateus has become really. It just isn't the same as it used to be, it felt much friendlier before. Our guild decided on migrating to Siren, it feels much like old mateus.

Not to mention actual login queues to the server which NEVER happened before because our server was so tiny. I don’t blame the OP for wanting to leave.

I have not seen people dc from how crowded a zone is. Hell, if a zone is crowded, Square has it set to reduce the amount of things you see to make sure you DON'T lag horribly. SB release reminded me of it, where I couldn't see a fate boss on top of me because there was half a server on top of it.

As someone who played on Mateus for over 2 years and saw numerous people leave the server because it was deader than dead.
Goodbye and good riddance.
The whining from "native" Mateuses is annoying. They constantly complain about Balmungians and is generally very toxic.

I agree that it’s better overall this way and better for the health of the server. I still miss how it was and wish it was the smallest server again, but it will never go back to how it was. I’m fine with how things are now (more or less) but I am sympathetic to the people that don’t want to be there anymore.

Tbf, I've hit a few queues in the past week or two, no maintenance/patch, even outside of the dc restarts.

Still less than a minute, but a queue all the same.

Healthier, sure, but some folks just want a calmer environment.

But personally, I probably don't see much of it. I suspect most of the issue, such as it is, is crowded into SB content, so it's still pretty quiet for me progressing through HW.

Know you've already moved, but I'm vouching for Midgardsormr, for anyone else reading. It's preferred right now, I think, but even if it's not, it's smaller than most of the other servers. Queues are pretty short, at least. I've played on a few servers and this one has had the friendliest base I've run into. I don't think it has much of an RP community, though, so if it's something you'd want later, you'd be out of luck.

I also briefly played on Siren and that was also a pleasant server, so I see that worked out for you!

Dead thread but let me be more frank about the reasons people might not want to stick around.

Yesterday we had people advertising themselves as public cum dumpsters in Uldah. Honestly not the only instance of crap that's come over that we didn't have to deal with before. I'm not gonna move since I got a lot tied up in the server already, I just avoid player hubs if I can.
