My selfish request: Remove GC restrictions when it comes to it's glams only

I just want to be able to wear any of the glam at any given time. It's not the fee I mind to pay to transfer to another GC, it's the time frame. Also, I'd just like to apply some of these glams all at once but again, the restriction between the sets won't let me.

Maybe in the future that Yoshi talked about doing things differently with GCs, this could be one of those.

I'm sorry to read that you feel that way but I disagree. The differences are already minimal, if there were no restrictions whatsoever there is no point in even having GCs, which in turn would interfere with something that is important lore-wise. I think what we have now is already a very good compromise which favors the players. I mean you're asking them to remove the ONE THING (more often people work for) that makes them unique.

Military factions you betray every single time Freelancer pvp queues net you as anything other than your current GC. And if they can forgive you for actively fighting against them, why can't they forgive you for wearing other coats?
And it makes sense they'll forgive you for the Freelancer bit because any GC would be outright moronic to put their foot down with the Warrior of Light. Oh don't like it? Fine, this human super weapon is going to sign up with a different GC that would allow it.
And then you remember that in the first place, Scions of the Seventh Dawn - which your character very much is - aren't supposed to show too much loyalty to any single city state nor their affiliated military powers. So GC affinity itself, as well as most PvP, really kind of breaks lore-wise if you squint at it too hard. It was weird enough when you got there at level... 20? in the MSQ, it certainly doesn't make sense now that you are Eorzea's military might, and you not turning on the other GCs is ultimately up to your good will. I'm sure those GCs would sleep better at night if you weren't affiliated with the third GC, but here we are

This basically. Grand Company affiliation is cool if you look at your character as a rando adventurer, but it makes no sense whatsoever as soon as you take the MSQ into account. We had an entire questline about having to move the Scions HQ, just to avoid association with a city state and then another one, showing how taking outside help makes us vulnerable to exploitation. Not to mention how WoL can somehow hold a high military rank - which would normally come with lots of responsibilities - while still doing all WoL things.

And again, you can join leave and join GC as you please, be max rank on all and you are also an exception. You can still "officially" represent a GC while using other GC's weapons and glamours, you are the WoL after all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Considering they added in the various lieutenant's items, that serve no real purpose other than glamor, I don't think that they're going to remove those restrictions any time soon (see example of the Maelstrom set below)

I'm with the original posting that I would like to see them gone since I want to wear the Maelstrom's gear, but also want to stay in the Immortal Flames, if for no reason other than their GC hall is so much easier to get to than the other two.

Thing is, removing the restrictions and still needing to rank up are not mutually exclusive. They can't even use the squads as an excuse because they go with you anyway. So if I want MAelstrom glamour, I still need to rank up for it and earn seals.
The only thing I can think of why they're not going to do that is because they won't know which GC seals to give you when you run roulettes and do fates. But all they need to do is make a setting out of it, I mean the flag already exists, just expose it to us users.
