    Thank you guys.
After my last post I redecorated the house again, and made some big changes so it's not a "home-like" house anymore, more fitting for an FC.
With a library, sitting area to chill, eating area with a huge table, crafting room.... and the indoor-garden in the basement didn't change since I liked it very much.

I am not saying it is impossible to decorate an L house. Just that I do like to clutter up tiny things and it works better in an S house. My FC is kinda empty, I am the only active person, which is why I never felt the need to decorate it as a FC house, but now I did anyway.

When I won the interior contest my L house didn't win, my medium did and the small one from my hubby. So I kinda keep redecorating the L house, and am never 100% satisfied. ^^

But like I said in my last post already, I am waiting now. I like how it turned out now, and we never know if they will raise the item limit again. My hubby doesn't play final anymore so I just have no small house anymore to decorate which is why I kinda felt like "needing" one. ^^

But I thank you all for your tipps and advice ^-^

I had the same issue, so my main goal because to make things more open so that the limit wasn't as bad.

One key is to use partitions (you can use blank ones with wall papers now without fear of them vanishing, which is nice) to make the rooms a bit smaller. This may seem counter productive, but it allows you to do things like put aquariums in to walls or have fountains coming out of them. Or you can glitch windows on them.

My top floor is the only area with more enclosed spaces- bedroom, bathroom on one side, music room, study and guest room on the other.

Ground floor is much more open with a very open entrance to the stairs and its divided into two sides with royal partitions blocking off the living room on the left and common/meeting room on the right.

Ground floor is just a open giant cafe with a ivy pillars, a pastry display kiosk and a gaming table in front of a waterfall I built into the wall.

It's definitely harder to make it looked lived in and I wish I could add a lot more details, but it looks nice. Hoping they do expand the limit. It's silly that a mansion that's easily 4-5 times larger than a small only has twice the limit.

I was playing with the new lofts as well and I found that ~4 lofts (give or take how you place them) should be enough to neatly block off the basement of a large house, if you want to just play with two levels. Just a piece of information for anyone looking to make use of it.

Neat! That seems like a much more elegant solution than trying to wall off the whole thing. Harder to clip through too.

I haven't tried to float anything onto it but I imagine you still might be able to? If so, you could even use the area as just a sunken sitting room or library.

Well I have a personal Large Home and while I have had to cut off one of the upstairs rooms, the design philosophy I use is to use the extra space to prevent things from getting claustrophobic. You can clutter up dedicated rooms, but you can leave large open spaces such as an atrium or large hallways without making it feel empty. The space provides luxurious viewing space and the hallways are for utility so the emptiness is being "used". You don't need to stick many items in these areas.

    My atrium and "office"

    My basement inn.

You know mansions have too little furnishing slots when you see blocking off large sections of the interior being presented as a legitimate way of tackling that issue.

    It's such a shame.
