Well, to be fair, it goes up to more like 50/50 to 60% when counting times when the WHM starts to use Holy after I ask for it. But yeah it's really just one in four that will do it anyways, in my experience.

On that note, and on stuff a few pages back:
It really does seem like a good few of these no-Holy WHMs really have been scared into that habit (or lack thereof) by anti-Holy tanks, especially DRKs. Since the earlier discussion where this was brought to my attention, I've now had a couple I've met in roulettes who've told me that was the case.
Recent conversation went along "(Holy) would be nice here." "Only if you want it." "Always <3" *WHM proceeds to happily Holy spam, and we have a short discussion on the weirdness of tanks who complain about Holy.*
    Often such pleasant people.

Tinythinker, if some DRK gets on your case to not Holy, you can just tell them to hold back their Bloodprice/TBN a few seconds, stun immunity kicks in after the third cast. Holy will be more beneficial all around. (If it's a non-DRK saying it, you can just tell them to bugger right off, but in nicer words. ESPECIALLY if it's a WAR complaining about losing Vengeance damage.) Keep doing the good work, and Holy proud.

We recover, and they drop a snide remark about how I should heal instead of "trying" to DPS. I didn't respond and just continued through the rest of the dungeon doing my thing regardless, but it can really put healers off (frustrated and made me feel like crap for the rest of the evening). Hasn't changed my playstyle, but I could see why others wouldn't bother anymore.

On the plus side, my recent expert roulette had a conversation similar to yours - after the first few pulls with our WHM healer spamming Holy like it was Easter in the Vatican, our tank (DRK) commented in the chat about how they loved Holy, and the WHM and I (on my RDM at the time) agreed. That was a fun run.

There's quite a few tanks that have been burned by healers that either purposely prioritize dps or feel that they have to dps because of community peer pressure when they are not comfortable doing so (like if they're not familiar with the duty or the job in general). I've had to assure a few tanks that I prioritize heals. Which is sad. I feel like this is part of why Tank Optimization has gotten so bad. You got healers that just want to crank dps. You got tanks that just want to dps and you got dps that just want to dps. Only one of those roles should have that focus. Getting upset over healers throwing out a damage spell when applicable is a bit much tho.

More like they would hold a stance for a single trash pull then swap to the other when our tank really would have benefited more from diurnal throughout the dungeon (we had a pld tank), and especially on the final boss when the nin would die often, even with shields.

Normally I'd stick with diurnal for most anything unless I have a co-healer with a different kit, like whm, only because ast mp consumption for a good chunk of its skills are absurdly large.

Yeah, my frustrations tend to focus on the "healers shouldn't DPS" crowd because that's where most of my negative experiences have been; I try to balance healing and DPS as best I can, often erring on the side of too much healing, but I try and own up to my mistakes when I tunnel-vision and accidentally focus too much on DPSing. I just get frustrated because of experiences like the one I mentioned previously, or an older dungeon run I had where a DPS complaining about me 'not healing enough' when they consistently failed to avoid mechanics and got themselves killed multiple times. It honestly feels sometimes like a lose-lose situation, but maybe that's why healers are always so salty.

I've been levelling my AST recently having gotten her to 57, so far. I have two interesting runs in my levelling roulettes over the past few days.

Aery: get into the dungeon, tank is doing midsized pulls and taking hefty damage (or at least it seemed like that, will be important later) over all run was smooth got a few upgrades to my Augmented Ironworks but that didn't actually click for me, as the only main issue we had was me exploding in Sable Price... twice. Got 56 here overall good team, even got some decent dps uptime despite being under geared.

Sohm Al: If only I realized my gear state before this run, no one died until Tiamat, but gods was healing way more difficult than I remembered. Both the dps died at the exact same time on Tiamat luckily Lightspeed, Swift Cast and Ascend were all up. Clear and got 57... immediately upgraded all my gear to 57/i136 gear... still need to het weapon none were for sale and NQ is still weaker the 130 weap.

To the tanks and dps who had me, I'm sorry for any inconvienence caused.

What's the deal with players doing blind runs on group content? 4-man dungeons I can understand, there simple and most reuse the same mechs, but trials, raids and 24-mans? unless you're an DPS or an "OT" who plans on not touching "sensitive" mechs you NEED to know what you're doing or someone else is probably going to die (usually the whole raid)

WoD is a good example of this, I see fake tanks, DPS healers and tunnel versioned DPS and yet when someone (including myself) calls another player out, (usually after a wipe) they get called a elitist or being a jerk that needs to stop, mind you its noting really hurtful more or less things like "if you don't know it, don't touch it" or "the tunnel vision is strong in this raid", stupid things like that (I've never seen anyone personally attack someone verbally tho they prob exists idk..)

But I myself don't care having perfect runs, as a healer I've seen many mistakes and have done quite a bit myself but if I see an tank pull the first boss and somehow gets most of the raid killed due to positionals or failing mechs himself or an DPS doing a mech and then ASKING what to do at that exact moment and failing it or AN CO-HEALER WHO KEEPS DYING OVER AND OVER TO MECHS AND INSTEAD OF ACCEPTING THE REZ FROM ME HE RESPAWNS TO THE ENTRACE AND SITS OUTSIDE FOR EVERY. SINGLE. FIGHT. THEREBY MAKING ME WASTE AN SWIFTCAST AND MP FOR THE REZ AND LEAVING ME TO HEAL EVERYONE ELSE LIKE IT'S OK FOR HIM TO DO SO. (WHICH IT ISN'T)

    ..…….
I don't know about some people and how they react to it but, I was annoyed but never to the point of personally insulting players
but like I said I'm not asking for perfection that belongs in the savage and extremes, common sense is the only thing I ask no more no less....if you don't know about something, ask or idk look up a guide so you won't be a burden on everyone just don't flail around "trying" to help only to do more damage..

maybe I am an elitist, I just don't know any more...

A positive story for today thankfully and it's oddly enough from a series of synced runs of the Coils of Bahamut raid series.

I'm one of those who did Coils unsynced months ago for their first run since I got into 14 way late for the raid to be relevant so I always wanted to redo coils synced.

By some miracle I found a synced-runs pf for coils that actually filled for once and we did turns 1 to 5.

I did reclear Twintania synced before this but I keep forgetting how tough this boss can be especially with half the party doing coils for the first time

It took us 10 or so wipes to beat Twintania but it was a legit fun experience to replay coils synced again with the party legit wanting to learn mechanics and ask questions(a rarity on the party finder where a lot of people hop in expecting an easy carry without working for it) and we were laughing and enjoying ourselves the whole way through

The guy who put the PF is gonna do second and final coils soon so I'm looking forward to finally re-experiencing Bahamut Prime the way it originally was without cheesing it like last time(could also be a little nice reference to what I can expect from ultimate if I ever make it beyond Nael )

I had an hour left til raid yesterday evening, so I decided to do a few more mentor roulettes - and the last one put me into Titan NM in progress. The weird thing was that only two minutes had elapsed, yet it was only one lonely (newbie) BLM in that instances. A bard joined shortly after and the BLM asked us what roles we were playing, since they only started the game and had no idea how to tell healers, tanks and dps apart - after I explained how to do that and pointed out that I'm a healer and the bard is a dps, I offered to just go without a tank. Titan NM is easy enough to heal a dps through after all. They both agree, we started, the BLM got knocked off eventually, no big deal. After a while a tank joined and we finished the trail without any problems.

Now comes the sad part though: The BLM who was basically just lying on the ground, told us that his previous group (remember that he was alone when I joined the instances) had tried to kick him, because he was watching the cutscene. Obviously that failed and lucky for the BLM they didnt want to wait til 5 minutes elapsed and left him alone instead. Taking a 30 minutes penalty over waiting 2 minutes for someone to finish a cutscene and a 5 minutes fight afterwards... Its even more depressing when you consider DPS-queuetimes. The BLM told us that he waited an hour for the trial to pop, only to be greeted by people who couldnt wait 2 minutes for him to watch his cutscenes.
Assuming that at least a few of those people got into Titan via leveling roulettes, I'd really like to see the bonus count as soon as you enter an instances - if you leave that instances by your own account, your bonus for that day is gone.
