Dear players, if you play a SMN and join an instance, please, oh dear god please, stop using Titan-Egi and learn how to raise healers when they are down!!!!

I forget there are people who actually keep things like Titan and Physick on their hotbar as SMN lol, yet can't be bothered to have Resurrection slotted. Rezzing's kind of a big utility, and while yes you lose out on a bit of damage to use it that's still worth it overall to keep the party going. Not like SMN has a very hard time keeping up with mana anyway, I mean you could rez a healer, mana shift them, hit Lucid, and if you're really pressed after that you can Energy Drain, not to mention Aetherflow gives back some mana too when used.

Today I tried healing a second time since my first attempt as a level 30 AST,but this time as a White Mage(boosted it to 60 a while ago and decided to start practicing it).

And that right there was my first mistake as I should've tried some old instances to warm up but instead I queued and got Sohm Al

Trying to manage thr HP for all party members(with one having internet connection issues) plus the tank plus dpsing mobs when needing to all at once was just too much and on bosses I caused the fight with the T-Rex to be slow since both DPS died and I couldn't get them up immediately till I got some mana back as I'm very much the definition of a rookie healer if not below that,we reach Tioman and this is where I pretty much paniced as so much happens once the wings come up.We wipe once on Tioman and try again this time I'm a little more composed and we get through it

I was lucky that I was queued with kind players as two of them offered me some advice,cuz otherwise I bet I'd get vote kicked as soon as we reach the plant boss and rightfully so.

To all pro-healer players out there,here is a gigantic salute from this little lalafell.

You guys keep up and manage through so much s*** going on and I can't even imagine how tense healing fights like Neo Exdeath,God Kefka and Omega o11s must be.

I'll probably keep up being a DPS player but I wanna try and practice healing to at least be more flexible on normal instances when it comes to roles.

Tho I'm not sure if I should use a controller for it since I'm using a Ps4 controller and from what I've seen it seems more comfortable to heal with a keyboard&mouse

How do we do it? Sheer practice and grit. Not easy when everybody is a bleepin' zoom tank that won't listen to you when you try to get them to slow down so you can gather your thoughts.

After a bit, you figure it out. But you'll spend quite a bit of time with people eating dirt until you do.

Did Alliance last night. It was Ridorana and the entire group was pretty bad. Thankfully I took SMN and boy, was it a good thing I did. We didn't wipe to any one boss though we got close on Construct but my raise got a healer up for LB3. Both our healers were down quite a bit and whole alliances were down too. The funny part though is that once there would have been bitching and shaming in chat, but since the new ToS it was just silence and people sucking it up and pulling through. While part of me definitely wanted snark a bit it was a marked improvement to the usual bickering and slinging that usually goes on, though perhaps not as entertaining. >_>

I'm rez queen on SMN. Most of the time faster than the healers. I have a macro tho, so healers know not to waste the mp and who to send the heals to. Also I do use Titan-egi. Like in Ridorana when Belias summons his ads and the tank doesnt pick it up or dies and I have aggro or in general in lower raids when OT's cant be bothered to pick up ads. He has a use but in general its not a good idea to keep him out all the time. I see a quite a few RDMs who dont raise too but SMNs are the worst culprits usually. :\

Last night Alliance B draaaaaaagged A and C to victory on Orbonne. We stayed alive, rezzed A and C healers and tanks repeatedly, listened to their nonsense, I as tank fought with the other two for aggro (why) just to keep it off our resident savage raiding SAM who literally could not reduce aggro more than he was doing while keeping up his DPS (the only high DPS on the raid, apparently)...he still died to a TB after some wild tank-swapping...I died to the TB + an AoE...and just to the TB...okay it was just terrible. I'll leave it at that.

What I'm really annoyed over is A and C squabbling over loot rolls afterwards. Like really guys? You're gonna troll rolls after that performance?

Safe to say there was some mild emotional trauma afterwards that we discussed among the FC after making our escape.

Duty finder in the past four days while leveling RDM on an alt to see how it truly works:

Carried two parties in Sohm Al when both healers died to boss mechanics due to not paying attention.

Had to instruct a SAM in Aery how to use his combos for better potency. Spamming one single move because 'it looks awesomelsjgljasjahka' is not beneficial to your own dps or the group. I ended up damage-carrying that run. Same run saved the healer twice due to being targetted by Sable and getting completely ignored by same sam despite the healer and I pointing it out.

Saved a Vault run on final boss when healer died to bs Holy Chain bug. They were doing the full across-the-arena chain and it still didn't break, why is this still a thing SE?

And just earlier had a nin who didn't really bother to use DB, suiton, doton, TA, or Shadow Fang for most of the dungeon in the Vault; same said person had 54 and ironworks gear on. Needless to say they died often. Same run had an ast that stance-danced often for reasons still unknown to me whom I had to mana-shift often and never Esuna'ed the tank or themselves when they had bleed/slow. I gave my comm to the pld for having to put up with that.

Now I know why people often call RDM rezmage.

I'm surprised they even got that far. Everytime I'm in a party with ARC and Topaz comes out; the tank, healer, and sometimes the other DPS are like "No no no, get Emerald out." It's always been in Satasha or Mines and a sprout whose always nice about it and clearly learning.

I have felt the tank appreciation (sarcasm) in Eureka Pagos. With a looming maintenance we managed to summon Louhi about 40 minutes till in an instance with 51 people left. I was one of VERY few tanks. Now why would this be in this thread? Well...

I was the MT, lasted until adds but ended up dying around add phase, someone else took over. I then went and tanked 2 of the adds (one of them was Sir Raging-Strikes-a-lot). Of course no one was really even attacking them and people were dying over and over so we all backed off. So it turns out even if Louhi resets he doesn't summon a second set of adds. After we kill the adds by themselves without Louhi in the fray we then went to Louhi and it went without issue, someone else was MT until I finally overtook aggro (they wanted someone to because they had like 6 stacks and you cant provoke the boss).

Special shout out to the guy from behemoth who said "none that aren't (insert R word)ed" when someone asked if we had tanks. I knew of myself and a paladin. Might've had a third or fourth after we all backed off and someone left to swap. It's people like you that makes me not want to tank for you if we're "that" underappreciated. I don't see you tanking.

Something I like to do as AST is give the tank a Noct shield before a pull, and then swap to Diurnal before I get aggro on anything.
...Based on everything else that was going on, I'm not sure that's what was happening there...
