Indeed -- SE implemented the search features for a reason yet people aren't using it as much as they should. Even if they added /sea commands from FFXI people still wouldn't do it and #occupyUl`Dah for the rest of time.yea i think people are looking at the op wrong, its not a no one should shout thread, its a, if people dont start using the search and telling others to use the search, then search will die because no one uses it. And if no one uses it, every one will have to shout, and stay in 1 main town 90% of the time, which is less than ideal
Maybe a "How to use the Search Function" thread would've been better, with sections for "If you're a party leader looking for more, do this/If you're looking for a party, do that," instead of getting mad and telling people to STOP IT, would be more effective.
In fact, I encourage anyone to make a thread on this. It's a little confusing when you open it up the first time.

I like to shout instead of using the search system because its vintage. I do it ironically. *snaps his fingers, drinks his macchiato*

You the person that makes retarded threads about stupid stuff that only you find to be annoying. Stop making threads.

They just need to add an option for a person to seek for specifically dungeon, party, mission, etc. Like how our party seek was, we're basically dealing with a bunch of non-xi players also who don't know what a seacom is or why people would put something in it, not knowing in xi you basically had to advertise why you were better in there. But it will never work if no one uses it, if you're reasoning is "its not xi's" you're a retard, get a better reason.

hello no. the search commentary is fine. people who played ffxi learned to use it, people who played ffxiv should too.
why deso everyone assume people who play ffxiv are retarded?
the party system had a reason to party menu and it made things cluttered and clunky.

Its not that they found it annoying, its that its driving the point that more people need to start using the search system to find parties or people seeking for parties. I know i've had my searching for a party flag up, with specific classes and comments, yet never received one tell for a party...and I was online for quite some time.
Got lucky on a return to Ul'dah where someone was shouting about forming one.
Exactly. Either a dev created thread or a well detailed player created one would be great.Maybe a "How to use the Search Function" thread would've been better, with sections for "If you're a party leader looking for more, do this/If you're looking for a party, do that," instead of getting mad and telling people to STOP IT, would be more effective.

"There are many difficult times ahead, but you must keep your sense of humor, work through the tough situations and enjoy yourself".

It's "Junk on the Street".
It should be the simplest task to advertise that you are looking to join a group. It is unnecessarily complicated by their interface.
Hopefully the JP players are providing feedback to SE that they don't like it either.

OP, how do you know that the shouters haven't already tried the search feature, and had no luck? : /

Instead of telling people to stop shouting which everyone will continue to do, tell people to stop abusing the search function. I sent 5 different people seeking party for moggle fight and they all had different reasons why they didnt want to join. 1) they were in a xp pt 2) they were tired 3) no response at all 4) Can I help them with their prereqs first?
People will be idiots.
