Unilaterally rejecting someone's opinion. That's what it means. It does not mean "to disagree". You're free to disagree as much as you want. That's not against policy (unless you disagree in an insulting way). It's when you "unilaterally reject another's opinion" that it might be grounds for a warning.

I think a big problem people are having is that SE is using poor choices of words for their translation. It's not that the translation is incorrect, but they are using words that some either don't know or mistake for other meanings. There was this exact same problem with the "compel a playstyle" point. Someone mistakenly thought "to compel" means "to convince", which is not the case at all. It means "to force".

I think if SE went back and chose better words for their translation, that would clear a lot of this up.

The fate of your account has always been and will always be in SE hands. As for the rules they exist protect you from other players bad decisions and them from yours not protect your account from SE. Soon as people realize their freaking out for no reason the better, most players dont even know about the policy change and more then likely wont even notice the difference.

People not understanding what words like unilateral means is part of the problem here. Just makes the policy more confusing and unclear, whole reason I posted the definitions for unilateral and expression.

Unilaterally reject an opinion or Dont be telling others they are not allowed to have an opinion. simplest way to put for those who dont get it.

No, you don't own your account. You paid fees to obtain a renewable license to a game account that can access additional content as determined by the additional fees you pay. SE reserves the right to terminate the license and provides a list of some (not all) of the reasons why they may choose to terminate it.

Feel free to take it up in a court if you think you have ownership rights over your account.

The point of contention here is that some of us are okay with these rules because we can determine "this is what they meant".

The rest are made up of people who legitimately cannot find reason within the rules IN ADDITION to those who can determine "this is what they meant". People are on this side because of what is potentially exploitable through these rules, not what a good person would do with them.

Rules should not rely on a GM to be a good person, or on a user to be a bad person. A rule should be designed in a way that dictates enforcing the rule to be a good thing and breaking the rule to be a bad thing.

This is like a playstyle of completing content effeciently vs using bugs to complete content. Both can be criticized, but only one of these can be determined objectively to have a specific negative intention behind it, and on the off chance that exploiting the bug was done with good intentions, the intentions are still harmful to the game and player base overall.

Expect this is the real issue with a rule like that

Person A says a opinion
Person B due to the wording of Person A opinion think they are doing that my opinion is only one that matters thing
Person C agrees and calls person A a troll over having a opinion that goes against others
Person B,C causes person D and E to gang report
Person A gets banned over how they worded a innocent opinion because person b,c,d,e jumped 2 a conclusion like all people do online this days...


And yes for alot of people it does play like this I'm not that great at wording things but the second i say my opinion or view point in a innocent way it always always plays out like that and then i feel like i got defend myself and dig up information to back it up.

One big example is i personally find summoner in this ff game not a real summoner user its just s rip off of wows warlock in my eyes its dps doesn't matter the question is does it have more non pet abilitys than pets if the answer is yes its not a smn. --'

But why do we even need that rule? If I went to Limsa and shouted "earth is flat, I won't listed to anyone who say otherwise", would that hurt anybody? I understand harassment and such stuff, but being stubborn to the point of ignoring any other opinion just makes you a bad discussion partner. Why policy that?

GM sees what Person A said and throws out the report.
GM also sees this is part of a long list of thrown out reports from the same individuals and flags them instead.

This isn't a "I don't like how you said that!" or having a conflicting opinion. This is your Person B and C doing everything they can to shut down Person A from having anything to say. "Shut up" and "You're an idiot" being some of them. Usually involving other rules being broken.

The times have changed as it says...so social politics should be injected into an already successful mmo that was doing just fine.
Get in line, stay in your lane.
Behave how they want you to behave and smile doing it.
Don’t express ideas, opinions, definitely do not even think them, that you know are controversial or debatable.
Don’t even talk about history.
Play how they want you to play.
Be friends with people that are like minded but make sure it’s in line with the rules and thought police
Condition yourselves to submit to any new changes.
Do these things and you will go unnoticed and be safe because times have definitely changed.
