I’ve been playing this game for just over 3 years. I’ve only run into 3 people in that time I felt compelled to report. People are definitely Chicken Little-ing in this thread. So many people commenting on rude players and trolls in the FFXIV community as a whole. In the short time I've actively played the game, I've run many PUG groups having no clue how to run the instance because it was my first time. I never had anyone be rude to me, leave, or tell me anything negative. Almost all the players I've run into took the time to tell me what I should do so I could actually learn. So not sure where all the rude/troll players are because I haven't seen any. Just now breaking into 70 content and so far no one has been rude to me.
You cant guarantee that, and you know it.That is not what gets you banned. Consistant harassment and name calling, making it harder for someone to play will. Bullies know what is meant they just don't like it so they want it removed. Most games have a code of conduct so them doing this shouldn't be a suprise or this upsetting.![]()
There will be a tons of trolls who will make a screenshots of such and spam the inbox of gms everyday. The term in which "bad behaviour" is being accounted is super lose, it could be anything as long as you give a good reason for your report.
Anyone could make up a story and how offended he felt and how aggressive it was towards him.
Someone not liking you could do it on purpose.
We all know what comprises "nuisance and obstructive play" and is what triggered this update.
Killing BLU spell farming mobs.
There's really no need to delve any deeper into that part.
You're not gonna get banned for 'early pulling' because thats too subjective.
Anything that's too subjective will be no more bannable than it was before, the new rules are simply vague in order give the GM the wiggle room they need when one party is clearly in the wrong but there's nothing in the ToS to support banning them.
No one has anything to worry about unless they're a career asshat.

Bots might fall under ・Other obstruction of playI think I'm just going to not talk to players who I can tell are easily offended for safety's sake.
Also, while it's great that they're taking steps to improve enforcement of social issues, when the heck are they going to step it up for the bots? There's more of them then I've ever seen before on Cactuar now, yet the same ones I've been reporting for over a year are still untouched...
"This means all other behaviour that deliberately obstructs another person's game play by some means."
Since bots do obstruct game play for crafters and gatherers.

I am assuming you are referring to datacenter regions (ie North America Datacenter). You understand that North America region includes multiple countries with a variety of cultures and sub-cultures. The USA itself has various changes in cultures within the same region. Cities contain different cultures within their borders. You are from GA, USA. You know there is a major difference in culture between uptown Atlanta and Downtown Atlanta. You know there is a difference of cultures between Augusta and the small farm towns that surround it. So, who sets the guidelines for non-measurable social norms and "empathy" for the whole region? Some person in the metropolitan area of California, USA?
Human empathy is taught. Guarantee that there are groups within the same region who have no empathy for one another, but can work together long enough to run through a dungeon.
You do you. I am the opposite. People who lack empathy towards X will eventually form their own private group. I don't have to ban then from any social setting, they will segregate themselves naturally.
Must be N.GA cause it's anything but that south of Atl. Also Cassie makes a valid point. People will percieve things in different context. Some of the rules are too broad and need to be more direct. All this does currently is lead to a sweeping generalization and we cannot simply assume SE has our best interests at heart.
It's happened to me more often, but I've been playing since the game came out the first time. That said, it's gotten much better in recent years... I think the last time I heard anyone complain about a party member's lack of skill was in Heavensward. Especially in 2.0, though, it was a fairly regular occurrence. In fact, it was bad from both ends... I left Ixion because between the language barrier and the cultural differences, I found that not even constructive attempts at helping someone learn the game could get them past the most basic dungeons (lots of problems with tanks not using taunt abilities, or just spamming the same ability over and over, and lots of problems with healers not healing and just trying to DPS their way through the dungeon. Also lots of problems with people telling me it was a Japanese server, so I *had* to speak Japanese, even though I was using the Auto-translate function to the best of my ability, and even tried using Google Translate a few times with no success).
I think the problems people have with the policy are warranted. Even if the worst case scenarios don't happen often, they don't have to happen often for them to have a significant effect with a player base of over 14 million people. But I think that this policy isn't likely to change until those worst case scenarios start happening because, as you said, right now it seems like much ado over nothing.
Seems like posts expressing doubts about the intergrity of GMs are being purged as we speak. When your new rules of conduct makes players at the mercy of the subjective interpretation of GMs, discussing GMs as an entity falls into the topic of this conversation.

I'd ask you to look at the customer service desk of your local retailer on a saturday afternoon and acknowledge that maybe some people are more prone to complaint and even false complaint than you are.
One might even say that such purging represents an "Expression that unilaterally rejects another person's opinion".
