Regarding the Revision of the Prohibited Activities and Account Penalty Policy

I really hope SE seeks to rewrite this to make it less vague. The overall intention is good - but the wording is so incredibly vague that it makes it basically impossible to know what is acceptable behavior and what isn't.

So many crazy rude people bullying players I am so glad this is in effect. The bullies will hate it but who cares.

And trolls reporting you for advices will love it.
Just keep your tongue behind your teeth so you will not get banned for "could you use x spell please?", which sounds like a highly offensive satire type of comment of someones gameplay style, since its written word the context will be always missing and so you will get banned for it, because why not there are 100 reports more to sort out today.

That is not what gets you banned. Consistant harassment and name calling, making it harder for someone to play will. Bullies know what is meant they just don't like it so they want it removed. Most games have a code of conduct so them doing this shouldn't be a suprise or this upsetting.

So many people commenting on rude players and trolls in the FFXIV community as a whole. In the short time I've actively played the game, I've run many PUG groups having no clue how to run the instance because it was my first time. I never had anyone be rude to me, leave, or tell me anything negative. Almost all the players I've run into took the time to tell me what I should do so I could actually learn. So not sure where all the rude/troll players are because I haven't seen any. Just now breaking into 70 content and so far no one has been rude to me.

Obstruction of play is an intentional act. Someone not being a good healer or a good tank isn't obstruction of play, it's them needing to learn a little more about how to play (maybe you can help them with that). Someone refusing to heal the tank because he's decided he doesn't heal Lalafels, on the other hand, is an intentional act and obstruction of play. A tank turning the monster during the tankbuster to wipe the party could be an intentional act, and obstruction of play... or it could be unintentional (maybe he was trying to dodge it and didn't realize he couldn't, or didn't realize it had cleave damage). But someone not being skilled enough for specific content is not intended to be, nor will it ever be, a prohibited activity. If you're that worried about someone else's skill level, form your own group instead of using Duty Finder.

If you tell the group you're new, nearly all of them will help you out. It's only a minority who think it's "not their job" to help other players, and who would rather take a 30 minute lockout for quitting than spend 5 minutes explaining boss mechanics.
