At least it's nice to know that this was an exception and that you found great people afterwards. Hope you'll keep on playing and meet good people because you deserve to have a good time *hug*.

I know how that feels though the key here is to not give up,if u let it get to you then they win so the best thing to do is to move on from that incident as much as you can

And judging by how old the incident is,you'll be fine from here on out as long as you don't let such bad apples get to you or take any abuse from them be it verbal or actual in-game abuse(ala shirking u or rescuing u to an aoe/pit).Good on you for reporting them tho

This one's a bit old but I was telling it last night and getting a chuckle out of it.

Was queued with 4 other friends (so we were 5 of the 8) for O8N the night of a maintenance. The split second (to the point that it was obviously planned) that the tank pulled, the SAM jumped off the platform and died. And in response to my "..." went "lolololol tank made me do it not my fault". To which the tank said "shut up, dumb***". It's clear to me at this point that they're all together (further reinforced by the drg's later comment of "LOL dude I'm printing these parses it's the only time I've ever beaten you in DPS") and I... am a very salty healer. I have no patience with nonsense, nor do I have any f*s to give.

None of my group needed our drops, just the crystalloid, so it didn't matter to us how long it took (and Kefka has no enrage.) With maintenance ~30m away & anyone with a rez in my voice chat (and all annoyed), none of us rezzed the SAM, we just left him there. It's (of course) taking longer than usual, and finally the tank says, "This would go faster if we had more DPS."

To which I said, "Yeah, a pity there isn't anybody else."

    "You could rez him."

    "Nah."

"We'll be able to get more runs in before maintenance if we speed this up."

"Shoulda thought of that before being an idiot. And I don't need more runs, so I don't care."

    "F*** YOU."

    "Nah."

I didn't even need any of the tokens but I rolled anyway. I know it was petty, but dang, I felt victorious after that run.

No S ranks were available for spawning tonight so I took my alt for a spin. Both leveling and 50/60 roulettes saw me healing tanks whose left sides were ok but the right sides... oh boy... and one of the dungeons was the Vault.
Both had at least one other tank job at 70, so you'd expect them to know how to gear up, but apparently that's asking for too much. At least the poor catboy is on the cusp of hitting 70 and has some SB gear so I managed to keep up thanks to the BLM mana battery that came with me.

Wow. The fact that you didn’t snap at those people makes you a much better person than me. Also, the fact that you continued to cover for that MT makes you a much better person than me. I would have just let the entire raid wipe if they’d treated me that way. Wanna yell at me for doing my job? Fine, I just won’t do it, and I’ll let you deal with the consequences. It’s absolutely pathetic that everyone sided with that tank. I’m so sorry you had to deal with that crap.

I like it when you mention you're learning a new class, in my case sch, and EVERYONE runs off before protect, stands in ALL the red circles ever, NEVER stacks and dies to EVERYTHING. For context, I'm leveling my sch and it's currently 55, I know people will say I should know everything at this level, but I'm trying healing for the first time and I'm a slow learner. This group I get into the 54 dungeon was nisane. Noone waited for heals, or protect. They yelled at me for literally saying I'm new, and proceeded to stand in everything and purposely get hit and die, laughing at me saying I suck cause I couldn't heal them fast enough. I'm over here like " Dude, I can't heal literally lazy freaking stupid. Why are you standing in ALL of the AOES?" Then I was literally told, " It's your job to heal even if I don't move. Cause you're tryign to DPS we all hate you." My leveling experience up to this point has been okish and most people have been understanding and helpful. But this one group made me want to quit the game literally. Why are people so freaking horrible?

Come to think of it, I'm noticing a lot more stories recently of people ripping on players from Gilgamesh due to some dumb raider stereotype thing, which is rather absurd when they're yelling at them for trying to play the game correctly. But apparently performing well is now seen as elitist. Honestly, I've never really seen a community that's as ass backwards as this one when it comes to endgame performance. Then again, I guess with a game like this where the gearing gap is small and the numbers are crunched so tightly together, the excuses (or lack thereof) can get really stupid. ._.

It's honestly freaking me out because we all know there's going to be a mass exodus from the Crystal datacenter players, and they are unlikely going to be transferring to Gilgamesh. Sargatanas, my server (and the one commonly considered the 'backup raid server'), is likely to be the main destination - and I dread the thought of the kinds of assholes you ran into flooding into our relatively peaceful server.

And there are cases like MCH which makes 0 sense until its kit finally comes together at 70 so it's even more painful to get a low-level dungeon on certain jobs in particular.
I personally don't mind if I get low level dungeons. Sometimes it's nice to just press two buttons and not worry about TP with having to do AOE. And since it's a roulette, you're not running it over and over again.

They could, but it depends on whether or not they want to spend the work on changing the system like that over letting the players themselves decide whether they want to stay in a party with a non-job player/to vote kick that player instead.

They were able to specifically exclude BLU from DF so SE has no excuse for allowing classes to enter matchmaking for duties exceeding their maximum level. Party finder? Whatevs, anything goes, but DF should be restricted.
This. I mean, I don't mind a bit of leeway if someone pops into Brayfox or Qarn without a job stone. But by the time you hit 40, or certainly 50, it ought to be a requirement.

Kind of wish it was easier to remove players that are more or less AFK in duties.

I can have some leeway for newer players not always pressing buttons—after all, they’re new and probably learning—but I’ve seen a fairly large influx of players in level 70 content that just press a button every 10 seconds and spend most of their time doing nothing (and dying to everything). For example, and friend and I were farming Deltascape and Sigmascape bolts for the orchestrion rolls Saturday night, and we got a RDM in Chadarnook NM who barely met the item level for the content, had a level 68 weapon, and spent the entire time jumping around. And I mean literally jumping around. They died 3 times to mechanics (which, when I noticed they were just jumping around the arena the entire time and not actually attacking Chadarnook, I refused to raise them—the other healer did though), and I think they had maybe 20 casts the entire fight. And, of course, they took the Bolt that dropped.

Really don’t like this sort of play. It’s so annoying to get players like this... I know Chadarnook NM is a joke (even his Savage fight is a joke), but you’re basically making 7 random players just carry you through the content. Have some respect.
