Fractal Continum (hard) allow emote to taunt mob loose

In Fractal Continuum(hard), there is a mob that tries on 2 sides to break free (he's given up by the time you are around the 3rd side of his cage). How about if some emote is done in close proximity to the cage and enrages him to the point he does break free and 1-hits the taunter, and then the rest of the team has to take him down. People taunt him often on runs and it would be cool addition for the right emote to trigger him!

Sadly, there's no benefit in a dungeon unless it's a boss mechanic. Even then, if it's needed to unlock (should it be something required in the future), you wouldn't be able to enter the dungeon or possibly be kicked for not having it. Sounds cool on paper, but the idea of a dungeon is to complete it and get to the next destination. Just seems like more time wasted on something I'd want to be done with quickly.

I feel a bit sorry for those who think every dungeon is merely something 'to complete and get on to the next destination'. When we do roulettes some dungeons we land in we go 'ugh, let's get this out of the way', but for that one, we go 'Cool, this one is fun'. Particularly for first timers, that dungeon can be immersive and a lot of fun, what with the scenery, the Ixtal wandering thru just ahead of you, and those creatures on the verge of breaking free. A team assisting an FC-mate thru on their first time could tell them "Look it can't get out, it's given up trying now, you can even go /poke at it!" and once they do, they'd get a big surprise with that simple mechanic added!

If I have to run it once, and a thousand times soon after, it's gonna be short lived of excitement. Mindlessly grinding tomes for hours on end to cap is not something I think anyone actually enjoys. While there are alternatives in a day, dailies are still mindless grinding lol.

And I feel sorry for people who make generalizing statements against those who simply represent the mass audience - those who have done the dungeons so many times that they can complete them while asleep. The function you propse doesn't add anything other than the opportunity for X type to have a brief moment of fleeting fun, and Y type who recognize that someone else's 'bit of fun' is adding more trash to the table for no real benefit and will typically skip it entirely.

I love dungeons and could do them all day > the scenery and themes, the music, various boss fights and all of that -- you'd be foolish to think that people who want dungeons done in a timely fashion (thanks to repetition) automatically dislike these aspects. Having said that, no, I don't want random extra trash being added purely because Joe Soap decides to press an emote at a certain point. That sort of thing would be better suited to over-world or optional quests where devs typically have more of that freedom.

@People who are sick of dungeons:

If you are bored of dungeons...

    1. Don't do them.

    2. Do them in a new and interesting way.

Complaining about boredom makes no sense when you are the ones making it boring for yourselves.

Ironic that you're complaining about the complainers complaining on a topic. The issue still remains that while it's great on paper, it has no absolute rhyme or reason that adds to a dungeon whatsoever. Nobody is gonna care enough to taunt and spend 2 minutes more in the dungeon for something mediocre and not worth bothering with. Devs wont spend time on something that they themselves consider worthwhile. Emotes don't have any real meaning in the game other than for RP purposes or socializing. There was only one instance where it was used in a dungeon, and even then, nobody notices it or uses it. Was back in heavensward, level 59 great google library post second boss room. Not one person I've ever seen, since playing from 1.0, has ever used it in heavensward. Neat concept on paper, but a joke otherwise.

Jumping the gun there, kitty. Word-search shows the word 'bore' to only exist in your own post, and only one person posted the 'assumption' that others are bored of it (clearly sign-posted with 'I think that...') - which we can safely say will not be true in the grandest sense. It certainly isn't for me - I love dungeons, as said in the second half of my post, so I resent any possibility you're referring to me.

Welcome to a discussion board - a place where ideas, opinions and topics get discussed by people sitting on all parts of the rainbow - yes, even on the extreme opposite ends of it - so saying "dun like it, dun do it" is about as useful as teets on a moogle. Such comments also have absolutely no bearing on the actual topic, the idea of which most of us have pointed out adds nothing for anyone other than an extreme minority, and doesn't even give that minority much benefit. This applies regardless of whether you love dungeons to death or are sleeping on your keyboard out of boredom.

Such ideas, as said earlier, are MUCH more suited to over-world where the dev's have more quest freedom and where there is less conflict-of-interest between players - in short, those who enjoy X can do so without worrying about what Y thinks, or without even grouping with Y in the first place.
So long as dungeons remain a track towards gear progression and/or a repeated content type for roulette's, the majority of players (either immediately or eventually) will prefer getting them done in a quicker fashion, over niche features that are there purely for cosmetic and/or trash-generating reasons with no reward.

Since when do people have to use to word boring to say something is boring?
