The game has been out for quite a while. Most people with any real drive to hit 50 already have. A large portion of those who haven't, haven't done so because it's just not worth it.Surplus will be gone as soon as there is enough endgame content. It is a band-aid measure to stop us from hitting 50 to fast (not that it works) and I would not expect to see it even in game next year. It will be one of those "Hey remember back when the game had surplus?"

Stupid system that needs to be removed. I shall play a game however i want and for as long as i want. I do not expect to be punished for it!
The Surplus XP/SP system is the exact same system as WoW's Rested XP just implemented backwards.
Both are essentially
200% XP > Grind a while > 100% XP
The problem is the way they implemented it and described it to users. It looks like
100% XP > Grind > 50% XP > Grind > 25% XP
If they made it where the "Fatigue" was normal XP and the "Non-Fatigue" was Rested, just changing the names publically and implementing an easier way to tell it in game, most people would be ok with it.
Or better yet stop confusing people and just get rid of it. That is the problem with square they fill a game with complex systems and never explain them properly. That is never going to change though.
So do you complain in games like wow when your rested XP disappears because you played too long? Its the same system just named differently.
Yesterday I leveled Marauder from 13 to 22. I had hit "Fatigue/Surplus" by 19. It's a joke. How are new players meant to level properly and/or catch up with other players? They're pretty much saying, don't level too much or we'll gimp you! But you still gotta play otherwise we will cry. I persoanlly believe it needs to be removed. Currently fatigued on LNC, MRD, GLD and Phys. I don't even play THAT much. I just level a lot.

I completely agree the fatigue system needs to be scrapped, I see what they were trying to do with it but ultimately it does more harm than good.

There is a little Monkey in all of us....
There has to be a better way to encourage leveling other classes (if you're grinding constantly) than simply slamming on the breaks with the current fatigue system. If the goal is to help casuals "keep up" with hardcore players, better to reward offline time than to penalize online time.
