SE and Steam

When are Steam users actually going to get equal treatment from people over at SE? Time and time again they've been holding Steam users back on orders/purchases, usually only giving them till the last month. Sure this time we can actually get the physical copy on the get go but why the harsh limits on orders? No other platform has to suffer from this. We saw this with HW, SB and now we are seeing this still in ShB. When can we get some love and stop being treated as second class customers?

Um... what do you mean? SHB has been available on Steam since yesterday. It went up only a few hours after SE's own store.

In fact, with the Lunar New Year promotion that's happening this week, it's actually a better deal.

They are probably negotiating the interest rate for steam.
SE called higher price on PS4 store for the same thing as they do in their store for PC, so i guess there is a fight going on with valve about the price.

Imagine not being able to order a game for a couple of hours in comparison to their own native store to play the game in 5 months. That's a big oof from me OP

My gripe is mostly about the harsh limit on the of copies they allow for Steam users while the rest of the platforms don't have to. We don't get any explanation as to why we are like this which would at least help ease worries.

I'd probably have to argue that it's more Steam's issue than SE's. Of course, I don't have any evidence or proof to back this up. But Steam have iffy requirements and never really deliver hard copies or additional physical extras. Outside of their own products, like the Steam Link, controller and VR headset, they're purely a digital media platform. So again, I'd have to believe Steam are being weird with it rather than SE squatting over the Steam playerbase.

Steam is pretty much a digital store so it would make sense that they, you know, sell digital products. What the Steam version of the physical collector's edition consists of is a little bit of both. We still get the physical extras but the game itself is a digital download. I'm...not really seeing the problem here if you know what you're getting into.

Edit: Yeah, I didn't see that they limited the actual copies and the Steam version is now on the waiting list. They probably could have, and should have, prepared a bit better.

I'm honestly confused. I understand some people have had billing issues in the past and made mistakes regarding purchases made not on steam but SE can hardly be faulted for issues that arise from dealing with distributors. This kind of thing happens with literally every medium when distribution is involved.

I've honestly never had any issues with the game and steam, unlike games like Dark Souls where the developer refused to use VAC and the game became over run with hackers and trolls.

In the past I've bought digital products that came with a Steam code to redeem on there.
Edit: It wasn't a valve game, It was Bioshock 3.

My friend was able to pre-order Steam physical collectors version as soon as they appeared but I looked a few hours later and it was already waiting list.


Could be a pricing thing because Steam takes a certain % of the price and maybe that's the reason SE has lowered the total amount of Steam Keys for the expensive Physical collectors.


I could always go for the PS4 physical collectors and just get a standard key trough Steam since I play on both console & PC.
But still, is there any change they will make more Steam physical CE's?
