I've seen a lot of complaints about Holy spam, so I'm usually avoiding it when I'm on my WHM. At the most, I might throw one and follow it up with an Aero 3, but then turn back to healing or finding the weakest target in the mass to help bring down. I will only throw in repeated holy's if the tank is holding up well and our DPS is slow as molasses.

But then again, many of these zoom tanks "Think" they can pull like the big kids and end up melting so fast, I won't get a Holy in unless I burn a swiftcast on it anyway... so there's that to consider.

The only thing I know off off the top of my head is that DRK has an ability that makes them regen MP from taking damage, and if it's up at the same time as holy spam, they don't get any MP back. As a PLD I can't think of any reason I wouldn't want a healer using holy. Does damage and reduces incoming damage via stunning so what's not to love?

The MP gain is so minimal from Bloodprice as long as you're in combat it'll passively generate Blackblood, the only time a DRK should be mad is if they used The Blackest Night and it didn't break other than that old Bloodprice was way stronger than the new one wasn't stance locked and would give you more freedom.

Stunning is also free stuns meaning your healer is DPSing, things die faster and you're taking no damage during it.

According to my WHM main friend, some tanks take offense to Holy Spam. I don't know if it disrupts their aggro lead or outright yanks it but she's been both told and shirked for it so she only really does it when our tank is tanking. Me, on the other hand reserve Thin Air and the spell speed buff (i can never remember ability names) specifically for that. *shrugs*

What I'd be curious to know is if those WARs were the type that stay in Deliverance 100% of the time instead of switching to it after everything's tagged. To me it sounds like those tanks didn't want to have to bother with generating enough aggro and just wanted to do their own thing.

I just spam it no matter what, even if I get a DRK that complains, which thankfully almost never happens anymore. It was very common when SB first released though. The way I look at it, no tank, not even a WAR, is going to be able to make up for the ridiculous damage Holy does if they have to throw out an extra Overpower or two.

Her main detractors seem to be Warriors. I think its mostly just pugs who don't know what they are doing but it's gotten to the point that she'd rather just forego the drama. I'm less invested in healing overall so I still Holy spam whenever I have the opportunity. Its why I play WHM.

Could be over it being spammed during vengeance.Vengeance does damage back from being hit so it would be a dps loss for warrior.
Also if its happening as often as you claim it's not just over holy spam.There's something they arent telling you.

Just had a DRK in HoH go from 21 to 30 without Darkside (or Grit), basically just 1-2-3 and Unleash on multiple mobs. Then at 5% health at on the boss right at the end, they turned on Darkside.

I mean, they were friendly and the group got through fine, so I certainly wasn't going to make a fuss, but you can't even Dark Arts without Darkside. How do you get to 61 without even knowing what Darkside does...?

Today on trial roullette I got Tsukiyomi NM with at least 4 new to the instance (both healers,a PLD and I think a BLM....memory is a bit hazy sorry)

And let me tell ya this is where I'm glad I went in with RDM cuz the healers,God bless them they tried their best,kept dying to almost everything from fans to the Light/Dark stacks on selenomancy so I had to rez both more than once to keep the run going.Basically I was on a semi-WhiteMage duty,a not-so-White Mage if u will xD

a couple of people left after the initial two wipes and the very slow DPS as the other DPSes we had kept dying from low HP when I was busy rezzing the healers,but I stuck with them and eventually they got their clears.

.......and people say Red Mage is the worst of the caster jobs and I'm like ....what?

I can't count how many times in my raiding experience where the existence of an RDM saved many of my runs which is what inspired me to get it up to 70 and use it as my go-to job for mentor stuff.

Oh I forgot to mention,I applied for Mentor role a few days ago though still have a few old instances I missed on to clean up on to fully unlock the roullette

Bit anxious but also excited to see how things go......wish me luck ^_^

I can't count how many times in my raiding experience where the existence of an RDM saved many of my runs which is what inspired me to get it up to 70 and use it as my go-to job for mentor stuff.

In the same kind of storys, today i did go into expert roulette as a DRG to play melee a bit (i usually always am on my RDM), thinking that all is going to be fine since i very rarely rez someone in this kind of content. Except that at the last boss the healer and the other dps get killed at the same time, and without proper healing (second wind and bloodbath can only go so far, and the tank was not PLD) we of course wipe after a while. I kinda wished i still had my verraise here XD

First time this happens, both healers and the three other DPS go down; I barely survive, chain-rez both healers and two of the DPS and we get back to the fight (though I'm very low on MP, even after Lucid). Second time, happens again, though at least less people went down that time; again, barely got everyone back up. Finally make it through, fail to get any drops that I roll on and received no commendations despite literally saving us from a wipe. And I'll probably be running it again shortly... :/

That stings....ouch

I had the same experience not so long ago though it mostly happens to me on alliance raids as people just leave immediately and don't click comms

Though my Tsuki NM run I mentioned earlier made up for it as all the 4 newcomers in the instance gave me 4 comms so it seems like it's more common in raids where people just get their loot drops and leave immediately
