Thing is, the job can be gradually implemented into actual content through updates, while you can't pull off the same with gender locks.
Dude, you just came here and blasted people for being hypocrites. Yeah, totally a good way to get people to side with your argument. I watched fanfest and it didn't seem like they didn't say no male Viera - how about, oh I dunno, wait until it's confirmed for sure. And even if male Viera aren't implemented, there is a lore reason behind it and I'm pretty sure there's a lot of people who wouldn't mind. This is a non-issue that you're trying to turn into something.Sure, totally different things because they're both different content. That means that there's no argument right?
Despite the fact both have been heavily fan requested, SE has also revealed them in a state that there's a lot of backlash too(BLU: Limited job and for Viera, no Male Viera), both are having the fanbase try and justify ways in order to get past the restriction, both have been deemed incompatible in FFXIV in some way, both are already pre-established and beloved things in the series.
But sure, there's no relation to each other, how SE is handling it or that the community seems to be OK with jobs and races being limited in some capacity.

there could always be a chance that in a later expansion male vieras could be added and a female to this "male only lion race" from the leaks, its what happened with miqote's and roes a slim chance though but still a hope.
Sometimes you just got to have Some fun

So basically because you're miserable everyone should be too?You got what you wanted, and I'm tired of the hypocrisy and of the "f- you, got mine" attitude in this community. You justify BLU being in a broken mess, no endgame, no relevancy, and say "look forward, more to come, it's not finished" because it's "true to its job and has incompatible gameplay. I say, No, Limiting jobs is never good, it's a terrible idea for "new content", and now that it looks like Viera is limited (no male Viera) you get what you asked for. You want something incompatible with Lore and so you are rewarded with such.
If you try to justify why male Viera should be allowed through "look at male catbois, they are allowed despite Lore" welcome to how us Blue Mages feel with jobs like SMN and RDM who are allowed to be unlimited yet have gameplay that is not quite representative or feels "incomplete."
Put an end to limiting stuff, ask for everything to be avaliable for everyone, don't show apathy.
Tl:dr, don't be hypocrits on why BLU should be limited while Male Viera shouldn't, and aks for everything o be avaliable for everyone.

I doubt they would go out of their way to tease us with so much male viera lore in the patch to only not give them to us at all.
What an ugly vindictive post. Like, this wasn't called for at all. I really hate that some people are not able to main BLU if they want to, and they said they'll adjust BLU if it does poorly. I have been hopeful they'll do something to make a happy middle ground so people can main it, but these subjects have nothing to do with one another other than you both didn't get what you want, and we've not see male viera yet.
I'm sure male Viera will be revealed in Tokyo, and I can't wait to see how miserable you are when they get revealed cause this is just mean spirited.

At the end of the day, race is just another form of glamour. I have no idea how this ties into what is currently going on with BLU at all. But it does make sense that people will want the other version much like a lot of gender locked glamour options. You got what you wanted, and I'm tired of the hypocrisy and of the "f- you, got mine" attitude in this community. I mean...
We still got one last Fan Fest and many (assumed) live-letters in between now and 5.0 release.
So maybe just be patient and wait instead of bringing everyone else down to your childish foot-stomping level, OP.

IF they would have implemented Blue Mage as a full class, it would have had 1/3 of the abilities and edited versions of some of the iconic abilities, None of the Death style abilities (Tail Screw, Doom, Missile), none of the self kill abilities (Final Sting and Self Detonate) and Transfusion, they would Probably remove Mighty Guard and White Wind, Probably Diamond Back also. Most of the Status afflicting stuff would go away with Bad Breath probably being reduced to an AOE Poison DoT ala White Mage's Aero III. 1000 needles would be 100% Useless so get rid of that. Get rid of all the like abilities because Elemental affinity is non existent to a full job. Half the Primal Abilities are immediately gone. Well only One breath ability would remain. You wouldn't need Water Breath and Bad Breath. You don't need Eruption and Feather rain or Mountain Buster and Glass Dance. Your Job quest would probably play out similar to the SMN one where you go and try to learn to do the thing but now limited to a very reduced tool box at the end. It wouldn't /be/ a blue mage. It would be Red Mage 2.0 Take away the fun and leave the bare basic requirement. Black Magic, White Magic, a cure button and Dual Cast. Basically Blue mage without the elemental affinities, and the over world learning and monster hunting is nothing more than Generic Caster Class number 4.Because BLU is my favourite FF job of all time, I always wanted to main it yet I'm simply told no and now I 100% a job that's a far cry of what I wanted.
I don't care about Viera, but people wanted them, and gender locking is stupid but I won't stand by while people say Vier should be unlocked yet BLU won't.

I said this in a thread about BLU specifically a while back but the real reason BLU is so limited is because Blue Magic itself is extremely limited. Bluemage in the past was treated as an enhanced melee class. This is the first time outside of FF7 that I've seen anyone try to make Blue Magic stand on its own. It's extremely niche by nature and even in FF7, Blue Magic (or Enemy Skill Materia) was considered support and not really a standalone magic. Personally I find this iteration to be interesting and I can see why they chose to leave it as is instead of making a sort-of red mage clone with blue mage abilities.
In any case, I understand your frustration a little but the Viera thing is way more unfair than BLU because it alienates a much larger group as it stands. But I'm still withholding judgment on that front until more is released.
You can switch jobs for free. However, it costs money to switch race.
This alone is why this comparison is stupid and just reeks of sour grapes.
