I don't think the WoL should be in any official movie, as every player have their own idea about who the WoL is and which job they use. Otherwise I think this is a great idea! One could do some side-characters, and do e.g. a sort of anthology movie, with some combination of these for example, jumping back and forth in time:

- The escape of Yugiri and the refugees from Doma
- Papalymo and Yda/Lyse (during/after ARR)
- A previous Calamity (e.g. The War of the Magi with the fall of Mhach/Amdapor?) (with maybe a WoL/Echo user before our time)
- The Warriors of Darkness
- The New World
- Sharlayan (with Matoya)
- etc.

Plenty of materia/lore to make movie of that's not in the MSQ

So how would it become an FFxIV movie if without the WoL? Even trailers for expansions require the Deplander let alone a whole movie.

For the roles, I agree with Maggie Smith for Matoya... Judi Dench would be ok for Merlwyb if not for the imposing height of that character....maybe Hugh Jackman for Raubahn... I’m still thinking for a Minfilia....

Problem is, HJ doesn't really look like Raubahn. Not even sure Momoa would be accepted cause he isn't black enough. Yeah, Minfilia is a tough one. Any other actresses who can pull of hot but useless beside Clarke?
It is true that Dench isn't really a she hulk, but she has the look nailed. She's a tough old lady.

Natalie Portman could make a good Minfilia, I mean she played that hot but useless Queen Amadala I think in Star Wars. As for Rauhbahn, maybe Vin Diesel or for the giggles, Terry Crews...

Well I thought she was pretty useless, but in the end effected things in a greater way unimaginable just like Minfilia. Anyway I just thought they had similarities in terms of characters, hence the actress...

I can't think of any actresses that can pull off Minfillia. They'd honestly probably have to find some 20-something-ish instagram model from Norway. I think Clark would be more suited to play Kan-E-Senna, or even Nanamo if shrunk down digitally.
