Dear Final Fantasy XIV Community,

I just wanted to say, thank you.

I have been playing this game for only about a couple months and your community has left me dumbfounded. In a good way!
I am truly impressed with the noticeable effort put into being friendly and patient with each other.

I'm pretty sure I'm traumatized by the last community I was apart of. When I started FFXIV, I expected the same type of treatment from other players. However, I was proved dead wrong.

I remember the first dungeon I ever entered in the previous game I used to play. I got kicked out before the first boss. It was my very first time and no one told me why or gave me a warning. I was just kicked out and I remember being very confused and I felt a little pushed away by their community. There were many different instances where my previous community exhibited toxic behavior. Comparing my experience doing my first dungeon on that game vs this game is like night and day.

Even after I finally learned the ropes, I always made an effort to be kind to others and especially to the new players. It's nice to know the FFXIV community does the same.

Don't ever change.

Firstly, welcome.

Secondly, good thing you ran into the non-toxic part of the community. There are definitely some toxic people, but they are also out numbered by the friendly ones.

Lastly, as long as you're open to advice 99% of people will be trying to help you get better...sadly some of them are very...blunt...in how they word things, which with it being the internet, basically everything can be perceived that way.

Hope you enjoy your stay with this community though, it definitely does have some great people(and weird one...some greatly weird).

LOL I was scared to death to tank or heal in WOW now I do both! For the most part folks are real decent and you couldn't have chosen a better server! Welcome!

A-Holes are going to be everywhere. This game has no short of them either. But I, like you, have found that the majority of players in this game are as you say. Nice, patient and just real chill folks. I, too, have come from previous games. ESO, SWTOR and yes, WOW as well. By far the worst community I have seen was SWTOR. This one, and ESO, rank up there with the better of the two, although I give the edge to FFXIV. They really are awesome people in this game.

I mean the thread right below is literally talking about gating 'bad players' out of game play so you do get some of the rotten eggs here too. Wait till your game crashes or you get dc in dungeon lol. People usually wait for you and then say np, we waited to you come back.
Compared to WoW where they instakick you if you crash and if you explain they just tell you to f off

I also felt relieved when I left WoW 3 years ago and came here. Grated there are still a few people that aren't really that nice, but most of us try to help each other out.
