Wait till your game crashes or you get dc in dungeon lol. People usually wait for you and then say np, we waited to you come back.
Compared to WoW where they instakick you if you crash and if you explain they just tell you to f off

This I can wholeheartedly agree. People usually wait for your return if you get disconnected. Lovely people

Depends on the length of the DC really. If it's more than 10min(though most people tend to wait only 5...I would be willing to wait 10 since I play in my down time mostly), then yeah, I think a kick would be reasonably justified.

I have left WoW for the same reason as OP many years ago.
Whata jerk fiesta the game has became, people there have no patience at all, a lot of them have short temper, they cant wait a minute. I have been kicked many times from the dung on my tank because i refused to pull too much or not using the "meta rotation". And if you get into conversation, discussing mechanics and balance, you will be judged from top to toe on your performance or whatever it takes to be the very best player there that has any right to speak.
No wonder blizzard game is quickly dying, community is super toxic and the game isnt great either.

I'm glad you're having a good experience with the community here, OP I admit though that I always find it a bit strange to read these types of sentiments from former WoWers.

FFXIV is my first MMO. I almost quit playing two weeks into it because of how toxic I found the player base, so to hear that FFXIV's community is comparatively better than other MMOs has always made me a little 'x_x'

I eventually found a nice FC and decided to continue, but yeah, my first couple of weeks were rough. I still encounter toxic people sometimes and you will eventually too OP, but it's much better if you have friends to run content with.

Lastly, as long as you're open to advice 99% of people will be trying to help you get better...sadly some of them are very...blunt...in how they word things, which with it being the internet, basically everything can be perceived that way.

Honestly that is how I give advice. If the Tank or Healer (sometimes DPS) is messing up, I'm going to be blunt about it and tell then what they need to do. There has been only one time where someone called me a dick (they were terrible in tanking the dungeon) but I've had more people thank me for the advice than hate me for it.

Welcome, OP. You'll have yourself a good time here. As with any community, there's going to be a couple bad eggs but for the most part, XIV is a farcry from WoW's toxic cesspit.

For the most part this community is great, you do have those horror stories but those are so far in-between that they tend to not weigh heavily. Just always enjoy the game and try to be understanding of different opinions even if you don't agree

Hate to say it but this is probably the best advice you can get here OP. Spend too much time here and your outlook on the game might grow to be pretty bleak.

In any case, I'm glad you're having a good time but as many others have pointed out, we have our bad eggs too and also be aware that the more group content you do, the higher encounter rate of bad eggs you'll meet. When you do feel fed up, come pack to this thread you made and remind yourself that there are some good out there.
