Wired controller button swapped

I was going to suggest the same but then remembered those are, by their description, only cosmetic. Ie the UI shows either icons for the PS symbols, or the coloured letter circles common on Xbox controllers.

What kind of controller are you using? Does this exhibit the same issue in other games?

Have you calibrated the controller either inside or outside of the game?

That may be true - my gamepad isn't shown in my UI. I am also referring to the selection above the selection for Gamepad type on the system configuration screen. There is also a selection for which device is the gamepad. A few weeks ago I was messing around with USB devices that entry got (somehow) reset on my system. It was referring to the wrong device and my gamepad didn't work in ffxiv but worked everywhere else. Its quick to check.
