The Forest that the Viera live in, and possibly the Nu mou, reside in the Kingdom of Dalmasca on the Othard continent so they have no connection at all to Eorzea. As for the New World, from what little we know the probability of it being Vana'diel is minimal at best.Huh, interesting conversation. I was until now under the false notion that Ivalice was the area that we may be venturing to. Hence the mention of the Nu Mous, Viera, Bangaas and so many nods from the raids and quests. Now it dawned on me that I mistook the "new world" for Ivalice when it's likely or possibly Vana'diel, in some form. I guess I didn't pay as much attention to the Return to Ivalice series as I should have.
I really thought XIV's version of Ivalice was a continent and not an extinct kingdom. Then the Viera jungles and Nu Mou territories are located in Eorzea?
So this is the map (which comes from reddit) of Othard with Dalmasca and Valnain (the capital of Valendia from Vagrant Story, also in Ivalice)
I don't think a land this huge would not be explorable.

not an actual town/city, with its own Market Board, Aethernet, quests, etc. it's not even a hub like Mor Dhona, Idyllshire, Rhalgr's Reach or the Doman Enclave.
i don't think so, i much prefer the current pacing of the story. Stormblood has issues but stretching out the Garlean story another 2 years is not the price i would pay to correct them.
because what some/most players think is mandatory doesn't exactly influence how the devs do things.
what's your definition of "explorable" anyways? like is Xelphatol good enough for you?
To me explorable mean you can ride the mount of your choice while visiting this place
That would be pretty weird given she was just a Raid boss. Ultima in XIV seems to be based on the St. Ajora version anyway.
That being said, it could be a neat way to use XII Ultima as a boss.
Ah, that makes more sense. And yeah, the connection between the new world and Vana'diel is a bit of a stretch. Just me letting my imagination run wild again.
This just in! No more liberation for the world suffering under a colonizing war machine! "Mansion" is tired of it! You all have to suffer.
Ultima from FFXII and Ultima from FF Tactics are the same entity, also when primals get summoned by beast tribes, their appearance is based on how the tribes see them, so if the Nu Mous summoned Ultima, it will mostly be her appearance from FFXII / Tactics advance
