I wasn't trying to contradict your point or argue against beast races.
"Fun fact, though Charr are the least played Race at 13%, Humans only make up 40% of the players ... the remaining 60% are pretty much evenly spread through out the remaining non-human races with the highest being 16%. This game is truly an example of how beloved well designed non-human races can become if treated right. Not only do they have their own home lands but also unique starting stories, clear cultural differences that play into this story as will as racial awareness in the story through NPC interactions. these are all things FF14 doesn't have ... which also means that GW2 will simply never get a new race and FF14 can afford to bring in new races as there is far less work in it than in GW2."
And yes, 13% of general pop is far greater than what Roe and Corpse people sit at. Prob a mixture of reasons, ranging from the general lack of interesting shapes they have (Male Roe are legit just walls, and though I love my Fem Roe they have no shape to them other than beef and breast which leads to them looking like gym instructors. Elezen have awkward proportions and animations) to the dev's desired aesthetic for the game (like how Butts where changed in the move to ARR so that they could put as lil work as possible into designing gear that goes on everyone). Either way a culture that seems to adore the cute has become the most noticeable and as such races that don't look traditionally cute are far less played.
Could they make a popular Beastly Race? Of course, it takes effort and all but it can be done if their know the target player base. Will that ever happen? I'm sure it wont. I'm just pleased that they seem to know that they have to push for super high heels for these Bunny People and if the concept and Fran are any indicator they seem to want to put some butt into them. I don't see them making a non-human based race like the Charr when they can't even be bothered to put in tail holes.
