I was wondering when this thread would pop up actually. With all the other threads (mostly about BLU) flying around, I was beginning to wonder if anyone was aware that we're only a week off from the next fanfest here. I'm somewhat excited at the upcoming news, but I'm not going to keep my hopes up high.

Just want to quick point out that not everyone thinks that gunblades are the most awesome weapon in existence. I know I've seen the occasional poster on here who's said that gunblades are stupid. Personally, I don't mind. But it's not my top favorite weapon either, despite being a sword. Now... swords that shoot waves on the other hand...

Anyway, I don't know entirely what they intend to cover at this fanfest of course, but I do expect the following:

1: Viera revealed as the new race: I mean, it's all but officially confirmed at this point. May as well reveal the race and let us see what they'll look like here in FFXIV.

2: "Gunblade" revealed as a Tank: With the introduced "Trust" system, the fact that Thancred got another makeover and is picking up a gunblade, AND the fact that the Scions lack a go to Tank member among their group, I'm 99% certain that Gunblade is going to be a Tank at this point. I may cry fowl if it's a DPS somehow.

3: Some possible info dump about the new endgame content for Crafters and Gatherers come 5.0, along with maybe a 5.0 Primal reveal.

4: A shirt teaser for Dancer for the Japanese fanfest. (I'll be surprised if Dancer isn't at least teased at this fanfest)

Anything else they show off for this upcoming fanfest... I'll be pleasantly surprised by. Or maybe disappointed.
