Fiancee and I were running Expert last night, got the new dungeon. While I was doing a huge pull, we noticed we were missing our DRG. He popped sprint, but didn't go very far and Selli double checked the chat log to see if he'd said anything and we missed it... he hadn't.

After a couple minutes of wondering what the heck was going on our DRG apologizes, says he was freaking out because he had run the dungeon about 50 or so times to get the DRG gloves and they had happened to drop off the 2nd boss. I had done the same thing all last week to get the tank gloves, so I understood this guy's excitement.

We congratulated him and throughout the rest of the run he expressed how happy he was do be done running the dungeon, and just how happy he was to have the gloves in general, lol. The BLM didn't say anything, but they were a good sport about the run slowing down a bit. They were both amazing DPS and we finished the run in a pretty timely manner, despite having missed the DRG for a couple minutes.

Now I just hope that poor guy doesn't get the Gymlit Dark for his Expert roulette for a couple days so he can have a break, lol.

Not to hijack the topic or anything, but I can't remember a time when you two were NOT together, not since I joined EEU years ago and met you both through a couple acquaintances. It's good to see you both finding happiness and moving forward in life, together.

Please god can we get an ilevel requirement for all dungeons, a tank should not be going into Brayflox Longstop with the dps version of Hall of the Novice gear.

What really makes this lame is, people doing this usually aren't newbies. The MSQ is set up really nicely to ensure new players leveling their first job have adequate gear all the way through. These horribly undergeared players are leveling a second or third-through-fifteenth job, and really should know better.

So, it costs money to gear up for additional jobs/roles? Switch to your highest-level job and grind out some leves or something. We're not asking you to have all on-level blues and purples, overmelded, in every slot, here. Just have at least vendor whites that are close to your job level.

So a weird time tonight, though not a failure either.

Decided I que'd for Alphascape 2-4 for some parts for my RDM/WHM, went in on my PLD. That was my first mistake as its been a while since I've done either 2 or 3. I end up getting 3. We had atleast one new person (I don't remember if there were more when we beat it as I wasn't paying attention to that at the end.), I assume I'm going to MT since my PLD has more health than the other and I went into Shield first. During the ready check the other one decides to also go Shield so eh, might as well let em have it.

Things go smoothly right up until the first Mustard Bomb which OHKOs the other tank. Why, I assume no CD use but whatever, I have it now. We did have one person die to the first Starboard, luckily not me even though I also forgot for a moment where to go (as I do) but tank privilege. Again things are smooth from here, I actually have a much easier time with Starboard/Larboard from the front of the boss as it is. Were some problems with people not killing the fists and of course half the time they spawn in from the north, first time I had to move up a bit not to get hit by them.

At the Level Checker one of the doesn't get taken, two dps on the same one end up panicking and try to go to it leaving theres open so damage down. We all survive the second set but almost get killed by the timer with noone using the LB3. Like, one second later and it woulda wiped. Charging the shield also took longer then I remember but we go it done anyways.

Things again go about normal, trying to remember my perspectives with the big fists (they always seem off to me for some reason) right up till we get to the second Electric Slide. The immediate Boards throws some people off (again not sure how many are new and how many have done it before). Now we still have LB3 so a healer gets everyone up, but then then SCH blames me for the deaths because of turning the boss. The problem here is, the second Electric Slide is always followed by the Boards with the first one facing the target of the stack, regardless of where the MT (IE me at the time) is.

At first I wasn't going to say anything, but I ended up not being able to keep my mouth shut. I should have because 1.) I get hit by flamethrower right after (tank privilege for surviving tho!), 2.) Deciding not to stack for the next Electric Slide gets a person killed (I assume atleast they would have survived if I did.) and 3.) I die to to get fisted by the small ones while running from the big fist because noone bothered to kill the ones that would be right behind the boss.

So eh, I'm dead, other healer gets me up, we all keep going. Next Mustard Bomb the other tank dies again (this time he was below half health, though he should have had HG up atleast.) I'm tanking again, another Electric Slide into Board (which again I don't stack for) and half the group dies again. People get rezzed, I end up near under 10k health as Mustard comes up but HG and not too long after we beat it.

I do end up talking again about the Electric Slide into Board, that it happens on the even ones (I'm pretty sure its the even ones and the odd ones it doesn't use Board right after.) but the SCH just tells me I'm wrong so, oh well. Just gonna be done for the night and glad KH3 is almost here.

Hell I even went to watch some videos just to be sure if I was right or wrong, and so far nope, when it Boards after a Slide it doesn't face the MT first.

Expert as tank. This healer kept using rescue on me.
They were pulling me away from mobs and ground effects placed by me and other party members.
Kept rescuing me during bosses for some reason too, which made bosses face the party.
I was dodging AoEs just fine but they kept pulling me to their safe spot every time.
Didn't complain or say anything about it. At the end I got two commendations.

I'll admit I had fun.

We had already been dating for almost 2 years by the time we started playing FFXIV, we'll have been together for 7 years at the end of March this year. Oh gosh, just mentioning EEU reminds me how long it really has been, lol.
