Was that on the EU datacenter by any chance?Had a similar run to this but was on Chaos(Savage) before I cleared it last week.
It was one of those "clear for one"+2 chests PFs and he didn't put a (Duty complete) restriction,by that point I made it to enrage and seen the entire fight before this pf so I get in,tell him my stance,he says ok and we proceed.
Party keeps constantly screwing up Tsunami and Blaze and after.....3 wipes iirc, they leave the instance and I get kicked for no reason as I literally did every mechanic right while 2 of the DPS in the party kept being greedy for their uptime and kept killing us on Tsunami and Blaze.
I cleared O9S/Chaos shortly after with a different party and ended up getting my chests for both last week and this week so it's not a big loss but.....it just goes to show how double faced the raiding community can be sometimes and as someone who struggle with anxiety myself I try my best to do raids and EX stuff with either FC friends or friends I made during pugs

Just got out of a Skalla run that was complete and utter hell. The tank (PLD) was completely clueless both as far as the dungeon mechanics and how to play his job. He literally caused one of the DPS to force D/C seconds into the first pull because he wouldn't pull even two packs. He couldn't hold more than one mob at all, and dropped like a pile of lead bricks due to not using a single bit of mitigation properly (he wasted HG once, and used Passage at random times for no reason. other than that, nothing).
I normally would leave awful tanks like that immediately but the healer queue was horrible today for 70 roulette.
We eventually got to the first boss, where the PLD decided to stand in the area around the edge of the arena and take constant, extreme damage for the last 10% or so. He ate every single AoE possible as well, which made matters worse.
The second boss went better since all I had to deal with was him eating all the AoEs in sight.
3rd boss was a mess. He made 100% sure to keep the boss aimed at the party the entire fight, but that was about it. He ate every stack he possibly could.
I can only assume he was either letting someone else take the controls, was trolling, or just didn't bother to read any tooltips up to that point.

I give up teaching people how to do the second boss of Abania. Let's just keep ignoring advice to step into those 3 circles that appear and let 2 of them blow up over and over.
Next time this happens i'll just leave my own (usually the tank in this roulette) and forcefully teach them via wiping.

It has been a while since it happened, but somehow the experience reappeared in my mind once more and it made me sigh in defeat.
A friend and I decided to go into leveling as WAR (friend) and DRG (me). We zone into Bardam\\'s Mettle and yay, it is one of our favourite dungeons! I cannot remember who the healer was (WHM, I think?), but the real deal was my co-DPS. A Bard.
Now, I love BRD as a class, I love burning mobs with it, but right at the first pull (usual double pull) I notice how...Well, how the mobs are not dying. The BRD was at level 70, as we were, but...To my horror and shock, they were using nothing. Now, when I say \\'nothing\\', I mean it. No songs, no Windbite, no Venomous Bite, no Rain of Death or Quick Nock.
At first I observe, but at a certain point I cannot TAKE how slow we are going, so I point it out. I get no answer at first and a lol at second.
I know we should have kicked, but we were honestly tired (last run of the day) and bit the bullet: we basically carried a troll, as far as I am concerned. And it sucked.
Bonus of the week:
I have been trying to farm Seiryu, but found only a SINGLE good farm parties.
Why write \\'farm\\' if you will not deal with a single wipe or if you will stop after T W O runs? Sigh.
I've been contemplating the choice of becoming a mentor for a while but for the past few weeks(including this one) I had some instances that convinced me to become one.
1/I met an amazing Roegedyn player that helped me throughout my O8S pugging process where I met him teaching the fight to new players....and he ended up helping me too up until I got my clear......if you're reading this....thank you from the bottom of my heart.
2/This week I was teaching Deltascape V4 Savage to a friend of mine and decided to put a PF and invite newbies to teach them the fight(well me and 2 others knew the fight since we cleared it but the rest were fresh).I explained the fight to them step by step and surprisingly they made a pretty decent prog during their first three pulls. And what I didn't expect at all to be honest, somehow I was showered with praise after we finished our practice and our tank told me "You rock"......that put a huge smile on my face.I'm by no means a pro raider if anything I'm average at best but I legit wanted to help people who struggled with finding parties to pug and learn o4s and o8s the same way as I did.
and finally 3/ today's instance on Haukke Manor(Hard)
Today I met someone completely new to tanking who job boosted their WAR and didn't even know what a tank stance is with some level 1 gear(yes level 1 armor) and shire gear.Normally I see most people ditching players like this and leave them stranded on the instance but me and the other members decided to teach him the basics and show them the ropes.Eventually we made it to the last boss and had a surprisingly clean run with only one wipe on mobs.the tank said "thank you for teaching me and for your kindness".....while this may seem small and sometimes cheesy to some.....this made me feel (and pardon me for sounding a little cringy) warmth in my heart
And that's pretty much why I'm determined that, once I get my 1000 instances done,I'm gonna apply for a mentor role
Yes I know that in the past I was harsh on the mentor system due to some of the bad apples I met while playing, but that is exactly why I want to become a mentor in the same vein as the mentor who helped me through God Kefka. To be at least a decent example even if I dont become as good as my Roegedyn friend
There are lots of new people in this game that sometimes get unlucky to encounter the bad side of the community which either makes them very reclusive or cause them to quit the game altogether.I want to be that guy that gives them that extra push to make them enjoy the game a bit more and give them the will to continue on and be,as the warrior of light's role in eorzea is,a beacon of hope(I'm sorry for the cheesiness but I dunno how to describe it any other way)
It'll probably be a rough process once I start my mentor roullette at some point before 5.0 but I'll keep going at it.I want to ease the newcomers' anxiety(be it new to the game or new to the instance they're in be it in dungeons,ex primals or savage raids)in the same way the friends i made helped me through mine during times were I almost cried and thought of giving up.
So yeah,a bit of a dozey and sorry if it sounded a bit cheesy and sobby, but thats why I'd love to become a mentor in the following months

On the topic of trolls, just meet one this week in Alliance Raid roulette. Said roulette dropped me and a few FC mates into Syrcus Tower where we meet a NIN that dropped dead nearly immediate, even on mob fights. Only 2K health was suspiciously low, while he had Ironworks jewelry his armor and weapon were only 25-40 pink gear. He had quite a few jobs on 70 so I'm assuming he was either trolling (happens from time to time in CT) or was just leeching cheap and lazy XP. Luckily we managed to get a Vote Kick in between the bosses.

I ran into something similar the other day where I was running the World of Darkness and in my team we had a dps whose hp was half of everyone else's which caused them to drop quickly a lot. I think they had all blue gear on but it might have been low ilvl gear. Somehow the whole raid wiped once on every boss fight but despite it all we managed to get the raid completed. It was the weirdest run I've ever had for that raid.On the topic of trolls, just meet one this week in Alliance Raid roulette. I'm sorry, what? Someone force D/C'ed seconds into the first pull and that's the fault of the tank? No, that's a bad player all around, or more likely, they had connection issues.
Otherwise, yeah, sounds like the tank had some issues.

Trial roulette, Ravana NM: First there is a first timer co-tank...with a mix of IL 90 and 110 gear.
Then a pair of healers who are bad a healing.
Then we wipe at his ultimate because people thought it would be faster to ignore adds and burn the boss.
Then when he does those wave things you are supposed to point away from the party everyone is spread out around him in a circle in such a way that no matter where i go someone get's cleaved, then one of the healers stacks on me, which results in both a healer and one of the DPS dying to the waves.
Naturally i get the blame for it, then we wipe again.
At that point i gave up and took the penalty.
