The problem is, there would be no way to stop smart-alec players putting in offensive images into their screenshot folder to display which would be in violation of the User Agreement, in fact, this is the very reason SE cited back during the Beta Test in turning down a request for something similar (custom artwork for Free Company crests), and their response was that because they would have to police every image uploaded into the game to ensure it complies with the User Agreement, it would require too much developer resources to be viable, so they said no.

Thus, in the same way, screenshots being used as custom paintings in game to display in your house would also require such policing, because human nature being what it is, someone is liable to think it funny to stick something harrasing, offensive or a copyright infringement on their FC/personal house's wall for lulz, a potential problem SE is trying to avoid.

So unfortunately, an awesome idea as it is, it is simply not possible sadly.

I agree with your concern but.. what if we had something like photo locations FFXV had. Where you go with your group or solo to these spots placed around Eorzea, the system isolates you for a clean shot and places them in a configuration (perhaps a list of emotes pops up while it counts down so you can choose a pose) and then SNAP!

It would be rather challenging to corrupt those lol. Extra points if SE adds unique positions, like pre-configured group poses that'd be normally impossible or impractical to take (I say group but of course you could go solo pose). Besides places throughout the world space at the end of instances would be a pretty clever one too, like after EX fights.

Great way to commemorate your personal, group, or FC achievements, even more points if SE lets you add a plaque that says when, where, and who.
