Viera Race "Confirmed" for 5.0! Are you gonna change races?

I see this as babyish and lalafellish. Only difference between lalafell and these Viera concepts is that the Viera have actual legs.

I'm very much a "I want everyone to win as much as possible" person.. but hearing this could be a our last race I would really hope the other clan is as aggressive and as mean looking as possible rather than even cuter lol.

I'd be a bit let down with the that above picture and Fran viera as "the last races".

Been holding onto my what like three (or four?) free fantasia for years now (same look since beta lol), hoping for some cool bestial aggressive race. That said if this wasn't their last race then "meh, I'll wait for the next one I guess..." ;( haha. I'm also hoping that perhaps they say last race but then add more clans / options in the future that are more creative takes (like an option that allows Au Ra being closer to their concept art).

They have a actual torso, actual legs, and arms that arent stubby. This isn't lalafellish. Lalafells are more like babies, these are more like normal children in stature.

Okay, we need this. A small race that isn't babyish like Lalafells are.

Another small race would be nice, but they'd probably be exaggerated/stylised in design should we get them.
There's certain problems that would come if we had a race that were just straight-up kids.

I wish people would stop automatically equating small/cute with "kid". Lalafell are shown to be every bit as adult as the taller races- they run nations, own businesses, start families, and put their lives on the line for the good of Eorzea just like all of the tall races do. Having both genders in a subrace be about female Au Ra/Miqo'te height wouldn't make them kids any more than Lalafell are.

At any rate, here's hoping we get more details at the EU fanfest. We've been gnawing on bones for long enough.

Considering that this is apparently going to be the last playable race. I hope they do the Midlander and Highlander thing.


or at least give the men good facial hair options. i just want a huge beard.. if I get that. I won’t care how tall they are.

Age, mental maturity, and life experience matter far more than physical appearance IMO. If a potato person can be treated like an adult, there is no reason a smaller human sized race can't be.

But that particular concept art is pretty much a Viera kid. It's not too far off from the Miqo'te children in design, which are confirmed to be children.

Just like he said they probably wouldn't do mid expansion job ads again after ninja. Sure, BLU is limited, but it was still mid-expansion.

I just wanted that cause lala's are a bit too stubby, but I do like that they exist for those who enjoy them. I wanted a smaller race that is smol but not super stubby at the same time.

That said...it would take something truly spectacular for me to switch from Au Ra.
