Restricting Egi Glamour to allow more glamour option

To be honest, there's no reason why both options couldn't be available.

Like, having unrestricted glamours such as Carbuncles, which are a safe neutral glamour that merely have different colours (Where's OUR Onyx Carbuncle SE? Why Alpinaud gotta taunt us with his shiny silver Carbuncle ;_; )

While also having restricted glamours such as other primals who would be more suited to certain roles.

But I guess part of this comes back to if SE have any plans on actually giving players other primals to summon (As either permanent pets akin to Ifrit-Egi/Titan-Egi/Garuda-Egi or as temporary pets akin to Demi-Bahamut) which would limit the possibilities for glamour.

True, but I can't see a reason why they wouldn't be able to do it.

If they're able to restrict glamours to prevent you from having, say, Ramuh-Egi instead of Ifrit-Egi. Meaning that you could only glamour Ifrit-Egi into Ruby Carbuncle and Ravana-Egi.

Then there shouldn't be any reason why they couldn't just open the pool of possibilities up to include multiple other options, I.e. Ifrit-Egi being able to be glamoured into Ruby Carbuncle, Topaz Carbuncle, Emerald Carbuncle and Ravana-Egi but being unable to be glamoured into Ramuh-Egi.

Since, it's not like these are specific classes like with our equipment glamours with the Carbuncles being like "Jobs" for the Egi's that would normally prohibit their use with other "Classes" but SE allowed to be used unrestricted. But rather just a limited pool of glamours available (Likely because of having to create new spell animations since it wouldn't make sense for a Bismarck-Egi to be slamming down Earth skills when used in lieu of Titan-Egi)

In all honesty, it might be that the restrictions themselves are what's causing the issue of the lack of glamours. How would they go about indicating what glamour restrictions each Egi had as well as what options are available (Since, currently, the quest just tells you about the 3 Carbuncles)

Now that I think about it, yeah, you're right.

They can do that (un-restricting carbs but restricting other egis) to allow even more options. About animations, they do need to make a different skills for each egis (kinda funny seeing Ramuh-egi doing Aerial Blast or Bismark-egi using Earthen Fury), so I guess it depends on how much development time they willing to spend for this.

About glamour indication, they can have an NPC that tells you which egi can glamour which (maybe in Limsa Arcanist Guild or Y'mhithra can do that for you).

They've already answer'd that.
We'll never learn Onyx and Silver Carbuncle, they are what defines Alphinaud's spell. Unless Y.P comes back on his word, we will never have them.

I also agree regarding the restriction, but on the other hand I don't think this is the reason why we don't get any Egi glamour, it's just that they don't invest ressource into modeling and animating new Egi. That's it. It's simply not a priority.

If it were, we would have had those for a long time, the glamour system has been put in place, now all they have to do is create the art / animation for new egi, and this might take a lot of time because this is definitely not something of high priority.
