    Why? It'll just be another generic healer (or melee DPS) anyway to play in boring content like dungeons, trials, raids and MSQ. Who plays this game for that content anyway? You already have WHM, AST and SCH to heal. Play with those. Why not have Dancer be a mini game instead? I know I play this game for the mini games!

    I feel like my sarcasm is broken, I had to go back and read a few comments to make sure I got it right lol. The only reason why I'm not sure is because a fairly common argument against blue (not the only), that SE has ran out of job ideas and there is no way to interestingly implement blue mage because all damage dealing mage ideas are gone - blue mage MUST be generic. Or that all the jobs in the game are generic, so why add another. I'm sad of that reasoning because it makes it out to be like SE is just out of ideas then, which I don't believe but seems to be a thought that exists.

    As an aside I do believe they could add "limited" content to Dancer in that of a bard like composing (but for dance and theater like elements). But of course I believe in "advanced jobs", where it's a main job with limited side elements (and prefer not to have exclusively limited concepts).

    Yes, it was sarcasm. Sorry if it wasn't obvious lol. I believe there is a lot of ways to implement Blue Mage and make it feel faithful, at least as much as FFXIV jobs are faithful to their original counterparts, and I've seen many people sharing ideas of how it could be done, some more realistic than others. I believe that almost anything in terms of game design can be done with imagination, and I don't think the last jobs we got (Red Mage and Samurai) show any indication that SE is running out of ideas for new jobs. If anything, it's BLU that appears to indicate that SE couldn't be bothered to think of a better way to make it work so just gave us this limited job thing.
