As bizarre as it sounds, this is probably the best comparison I've seen. Not everything has to be tied to or balanced around progression. It's okay for things to be self contained side activities.Fishing is actually the best existing BLU parallel I can think of. I personally consider FSH to be a limited gathering job. It kinda lives in a world of its own. Aside from a handful of exceptions, fish are irrelevant to crafting, fishing is not profitable, desynthing fish isn't even part of Fisher itself, and Big Fishing is a self-serving collect-a-thon that rewards not much aside from personal satisfaction.
I'm one of the people who was disappointed by BLU not being a standard job, but what they're doing with it looks fantastic and I am very excited. Trying to "fix" it makes you sound obnoxious.

Best way to "fix" it would be to remove it and make it a non limited job. Battle jobs shouldn't be side content imo.
I'd like to agree with you, but the skills datamined provide a fairly balanced rotation, with the only thing pushing it into unbalanced being peculiar light being a 30% magic vuln (Seriously 30%). The rest of the abilities seem to form together to make a neat interesting rotation and skillset, so the question arises, if they do have this fairly balanced rotation (excluding peculiar light which could just be tuned down) why should it be exempt from stuff?I think people are misunderstanding the difference between unbalanced and overpowered. In all single player games, BLU is presented in a way that would never work in an MMO, with its identity being around gimmicky enemy skills (Lvl X skills, RNG skills, elemental affinity skills, debuff skills etc.). In short, BLU isn't overpowered, it's not suited, and that's before you even take into account skill acquisition.
The current implementation of BLU allows the job to be developed in an environment where it is suited.
Edit: Before you bring up XI, its not a fair comparison because all jobs in XI are unbalanced.

Fix something that isn't even released yet? I think we should at least see what the pros and cons are first hand before we go jumping to any conclusions.
I cant see a neat and balanced rotation myself.I'd like to agree with you, but the skills datamined provide a fairly balanced rotation, with the only thing pushing it into unbalanced being peculiar light being a 30% magic vuln (Seriously 30%). I see a couple of combos, and a few spells you could string together in a way that consensus could deem optimal, but without MP costs or cooldowns its still up in the air atm.
Here's one I prepared earlier: https://imgur.com/a/aM0qhyM
As you said earlier with mana costs its all up in the air, but this seems solid to me atm.

It's good to know that people are coming up with fixes for things we haven't even touched yet.

How can something need fixed when it hasn't even gone live yet and been utilized by the players?
