Devs shouldn't give up on races after Viera.

It's possible there'll be short versus tall Vierra for subraces, similar to Midlanders versus Highlanders. And all of this is with the grain of salt that it takes time, money, and effort for SE to make a new race... not to mention get gear set up for that race. It's not so surprising they said Viera are the last addition. But if they were gonna do a thing, and if the game was going to continue to be limited to the humanoid races versus beast races, I think these might be options.

Don't count on it. Rava and Veena are more or less confirmed to be the two clans based on in-game dialogue (the main differences between the two is skin colour).

Outside of beast races I don't think there's anything else left to add.
There's only so many flavours of "human with animal parts" you can make before it feels a bit redundant.
As much as I'd love a beast race there chances seem a bit slim, what with all the lore and early story piling up against them.

Yup, from what I heard it sounded like mainly different colors--the size difference probably would have been mentioned if it was happening. I just didn't feel like I could dismiss the possibility with 100% certainty given info I had. Literally just fought Zenos for the first time last night haha, haven't encountered the in-game Viera references yet!

I don't know why people think Feol Viera are so small they'd be considered a short race like lalafell or moogle. It really annoys me. The only thing about them that is mentioned to be shorter than the average viera is their ears. Their sprites in revenant wings are the same size as other viera, and smaller short races like the Moogles from Ivalice and Cait/Cu Sith have clearly smaller sprites.

Viera have never been tiny/short other than younger viera and even they are still taller than a shorter Hume like Vaan/Penelo.

I'm fine if they make another short race, but it reaaaaally bothers me that people are trying to pinhole viera into short.

And honestly I think this is a little skewed too.

Male Au Ra, Femroe and Male Roe I'd consider the tallest of the tall, the rest I would consider average.

It's silly to say race diversity is on the line. More people will want to play average height characters than anything, and I imagine Fran will mark the taller side of Viera, my Femroe is still a full head taller than her.

Viera will probably range from Midlander to Elezen heights.

They mentioned there will be Dwarves in the 5.0 areas, I'm intrigued by how they're gonna do that cause I've always imagined Lala to be the dwarfs of Hydaelyn.

I want to be able to have a HUGE beard as any race.

I feel Lalafell's are closer to being gnomes than dwarfs.
