Wrongful kicking people on third boss in new Ivalice raid

That happened with my run a few times as well but the majority kept declining the Vote Abandon and kept on trying anyway. We had a few quitters but that didn't deter us enough, even getting to phase 2 of the last boss with less than 20mins left we stuck with it and eventually cleared it.

I mean most people aren't going to learn if they Abandon anyway so there is no point when progress is actually being made by everyone else. Think some players just want a party to carry them through this stuff...

My JP alliance earlier today got the 3rd boss down after the 2nd wipe. No rage or anything, just everyone taking the time to learn the content at 1st and 3rd phase, figuring out the ballroom dance routine.

I would actually say the 1st and 2nd boss caused way more deaths and issues. For the life of all of us, no one could figure out the shield duty action and why it wasn't working on the 2nd boss.

The Shield Duty action only works on one specific cast (the one shown on the first cast). In later phases there are multiple attacks to dodge and the shield only works on that attack. Also make sure that your shield faces her or it will not have the full effect.

But people were really inpatient on our run yesterdays, lots of Vote Abandon and Vote Kicks. I really don't understand those people, it's the first day and virtually everyone goes in blind there. And there was a lot of learning progress in all alliances.

BTW, I like this raid very much, even if we only got to Cid yesterday. Cool design and cool bosses.

The first two bosses we had little trouble with for some reason, a few deaths, but nothing serious. The last boss we had one wipe near the end, but recovered and she quickly fell on the next attempt.

And man, that was some LONG series of cut scenes to even get access to the thing.

Yeah, it was the same with my group. First two bosses were relatively easy, four or five wipes in Cid (don't remember exactly lol), but people relatively patient (complaining here and there, but no Vote Abandons/Kicks), and in the last battle, we wiped once in the mid phase because there weren't enough people alive to kill the thing before it wiped the party and then once during the second phase. Compared with my first time in Ridorana, it actually went pretty smoothly lol. I guess I got really lucky with my group.

I got lucky on my raids today. Groups interested in teaching/learning. Worst we got was the first one I did, and that was just a vote abandon. That boss can be really stressful though, a single alliance with a few members not following the mechanics can kill the entire raid.

Not to cause a big discussion here, but someone said here on the forums once (I saw someone quoting that as their signature) that you need more than one people to agree to kick you. Since there's not more details on your post (proof I mean), I can imagine you were doing something wrong, despite being first day of raid. Maybe they got tired of explaining what to do, or they were just really frustrated. We kicked a NIN who kept respawning instead of waiting for a ress as if it should be immediately lol and also auto-running towards the walls. Sorry that you went through that, people think you gotta know everything on release day, but again, more than one person is needed to agree for a kick.

Remind people when they can leave without penalty, to just leave and let everyone else keep playing. I finished Orbonne twice yesterday (as WHM and RDM), both runs zero salt, AFAIK no vote kicks either, just vote abandon spam in the second one. Vote kicking people though, come on. I hope that's not a Primal datacenter thing, too.

Yeah the thing is more often than not folks will just press the yes button with out even really thinking about it or even caring. =/ Then in that case it could simply mean you did not live up to the expectations of the originator of the vote. Only time I press yes in 24 man is when the person being voted is clearly being a troll or purposely detrimental to everyone's enjoyment.(Like Rossentretter's NIN, what a ding dong!) Never for performance. In my mind 24 man is the casual players raiding.

OP, my experience was very different. The group I was in laughed and had fun, we appreciated the raid and the mechanics generally had a great time. As hard as it might be don't let that kick get you down. You just keep doing you!

Sounds about right because people are like that for the new EX fights usually, "know mechanics or kick" even though it is the first day.

It's somewhat understandable, not that I agree with it mind you.
These people have likely got on early to try and clear this stuff, but every time they queue, they end up with newbies who don't know the mechanics, and they never clear it. I'd be getting pretty impatient too.
