Let me start by saying that "being elitist" is by no means a bad thing.

Being elitist IS ALWAYS a bad thing. And that's very different from being a elite player. The second is about being a great player, while the first is about being an asshole who thinks himself as an "elite". An elitist doesn't care about the game. He cares about himself, his time, his fun, his parse... He's just another selfish player, but just more vocal about his big "this group owes me" sense.

you wanna be as efficient as possible, because why not right?

Because no one in the party owes anything to anyone? The only thing you can do is play the best way you can, even if that means to carry someone.

I'll never understand why those elitists are always in so much hurry.
