Man I would've hated to be a brand new player five days into FFXIV...only to see two players bickering with each other and taking potshots at each other, because of course, nobody can be the bigger person and just not say anything until they leave the duty and contact a GM.

You might not see it in the log, but we had already previously agreed that we would go with mass pulls and kill them all at once, me and the healer didn't receive any objection to that, so we proceeded, I went with tank stance, he was in DPS stance, and then on floor 56 he activated tank stance and starting pulling all the mobs in the opposite direction. Starting from floor 57 he got triggered because all I asked is if he would stop fighting over aggro with me, a couple of minutes later he went on this crazy mental breakdown and started playing the victim. On floor 58 the healer DC'd but he would still go and pull everything...he then got killed and he would just stand there and keep ranting over and over again, we just stood there for like 5 minutes because he wouldn't move, so I gave him the ultimatum to either move or kick, he then starts insulting me in German so I responded in kind. The dude was obviously overly sensitive, I mean, he brought LoL of all games as an example and even dropped the "Imma report u" card almost immediately, probably gotten his ass handed to him all too many times in LoL and now he is emotionally as brittle as glass. I won't make the face that I was right in this, I could have handled it better, but people like this just piss me off to no end and I end up stooping to their childish bullshit.
But seriously, he played the victim card HARD.

Leveling roulette into Sirensong. SCH-me, WAR, DRG, BLM.
For once it's not people coming in undergeared.
It's just what the DPs were doing...
Mechanics being wonky I can understand, as the dragoon was new. No harm there.
But... but...
While the WAR was pulling big all dungeon long, the BLM was doing the level 50 single target rotation on everything. Except with Leylines, and with Transpose in place of Fire III and Blizzard III. Sometimes just standing around not casting anything. Fire IIs came out at two points: at the end of the massive pull after boss #2 (when half the mobs were dead already) and on the 2 dogs after that (where you're not supposed to AoE). Exactly zero Fire IVs were cast ever.
The Dragoon also didn't use Doom Spikes or Sonic Thrusts besides the 2-dog pull... But they were new, so it might be just inexperience and not knowing when to use it, rather than pure idiocy. I tried to give some pointers on when to AoE to both of them, hope some of it got through...

I rarely post in this thread, thankfully enough, as bad experiences are pretty wide and between for me. But something amusing did happen in my venture into Shisui while levelling Machinist.

Loaded in, and saw that the other DPS was a machinist as well. Nothin' wrong with that. Then I noticed something. 11k health. Considering I was a level below her and had 21k from my subpar gear at the time, I knew something was definitely up. Low and behold, she was wearing NQ Level 50 gear you can just buy from the vendors in Ishgard.



As predicted, it took incredibly long for us to take stuff down. Nothing impossible to work with, but slow enough that we asked her about her gear. No response. Tried offering advice that she could buy some gear at a vendor. No response there either. The tank eventually got fed up and vote dismissed her at the first boss, where she was quickly replaced by another Machinist who was properly geared. The healer left after them so I could only suppose the two were premade. Following there, the run went incredibly smoothly once a healer quickly popped in, so all's well ends well.

...Oh, and the kicker? The undergeared Machinist was a mentor.

Thats what you get for not having a min ilvl requirement for leveling dungeons.

Yeah if you think that this game's community is as toxic as LoL then maybe you're the problem... I mean of course people are gonna act "toxic" to you when you start acting like a jerk.

If it makes any of you feel better, I've used this thread to learn a bunch of things not to do - and it's even taught me a few rotations I've had wrong.

Yeah i had to laugh about that because this com here is very far away from the LoL com in terms of behaviour and the poster of this screenshot is evidently not a single bit better than the person he complains about.

So the other day I was doing the 4.3 trial story mode to catch an alt up through the msq.

We wipe once. Second attempt we do much better, getting the boss to about 15%. And now having two stacks of the echo, victory seems assured.

Then somebody tries to vote abandon, even though we got close on the previous attempt and now have an additional buff. Strange. If someone was short on time and just had to leave, well they could just leave the duty and eat the penalty since they have to get going anyway. Nobody speaks up in party chat in favor of disbanding, and the check fails. Tank pulls again.

One of the two healers 'disconnects' early into the fight, leading us to assume they were the person that wanted to vote abandon. But despite being down a healer and not having access to lb3, we finished the fight and it went pretty smoothly.

Had a really rough Skalla run, 2 new players, a DPS (drg) and a healer (sch).
Everything was fine more or less, but, even after explaining the core mechanic introduced by each boss (while not explaining mechanics seen throughout the game. Like aoe falloff damage marker, the + aoe from Lakshimi, ect,) the players seemed to et hit by the exact same thing multiple times throughout the fights. Ended up being a 49 minute run.

But, I'm not peeved because I finally got the card to drop. So, I reached my 4.4 goal of being ten cards off max (230/240) before 4.5 releases so I'm pleased.

I wanted to thank you for sharing your struggles, as it motivates me in my own quests. Yesterday I was lucky enough to get the Happy Bunny card, which means the only Eureka-related card I don't have yet is the Penny card. Soon.

Lakshimi extreme 1 tank 1 healer 6 dps, i was the tank, nobody died BUT 30% hp left when the add phase come...
even when i was with my RDM in DF i manage to kill her before the add phase sometime... 6 dps 30% left... 5 run..
glad the healer run away after the 2nd run so i could too...
