My sentiments exactly. That's all achievements are really; bragging rights. It's not as if the item rewards aren't going to be replaced eventually.

First of all, the Patch note of 1.20 the started NPC is Dedeyadi not Rebeccah.

In order to get these tool, you really need to start from beginning.
you need to complete:
50 items of L1-10 recipes
300 of L11-20
750 of L21-30
1500 of L31-40
3000 of L41-50

That's WOW!

I got Logging achievemetn I and II today This resulted in enough logs to get the Going with the Grain Carp achievement II.

Starting a craft from 0 this would be fun to work towards. Your synths count for XP and work towards the achievement. Just seems I have wasted many hours leveling if I am just going to have to do it again. I guess they needed to add a huge time sink to fill until 2.0. I think i will pass on this achievement reward.

Eh... I see both sides of the argument, though I have to admit I'm not all too thrilled about not getting anything for the efforts I put in for the DoH/L classes.

What irks me the most is that the whole thing reeks of a blatant grind-bait, especially when taken in with other stuff like the mog fight (20 token for a weapon, redo 5 key items every fight). While this wasn't entirely a surprise, I still expected something better than these poorly-disguised timesinks-for-the-sake-of-timesinks.

I dunno, I was already losing interest before 1.20, and so far I haven't seen much in 1.20 that would change that, and throwing in a rather poorly thought-out achievement system that, rightly or wrongly, annoys/piss off parts of your player base, doesn't help much either.
