There's quite a lot to take in from your full post. I do respect that you don't fancy, and might even hate how FFXIV implements a number of things. That's fine because everyone's different. (For example, I like pineapple on my pizza. Sacrilegious to some, yes?)

I just wanted to zoom in to Extremes for Primals. It tiers a fight into story mode and a more challenging fight. I totally understand that's not your cuppa. I just don't think it's fair to call it lazy in that context?

I guess I'm a little protective of SE here cos I only play the story mode primals and not the extremes. Hearing someone called lazy for putting in extra work in tier-ing trials and similarly the 8-man raids 3.0 onwards to cater for people like me, I felt I needed to put this out there.

Yes, I really like some stuff and really dislike other stuff.

To be fair, a lot of the stuff I really dislike are things they took from other games like WoW. I'll be honest, I've been gaming a long time and it might just be that this particular style and time period of gaming doesn't suit me (the raiding style, anyway)... but I don't begrudge anyone that likes it. I'm self aware enough to know that I'm being a crotchety oldy- but still understanding enough to know that hey, some people love it and there is room for both.

There's a big difference between me not liking some stuff and me complaining and asking for it to change- I'm not asking for change- so no reason for people to get defensive. I just don't like some stuff. But there's plenty I do like to keep me happy- so I'll just not do the stuff I'm not a fan of- and keep doing the stuff I like.

The only thing that I dislike and would like to see changed is the amount and quality of content in patches. It really feels like it's getting sparse. If you are going to include rehashed content in your patched updates (cut corners on production), throw in some other substantive content like story line, enhancement to systems, whatever. Copy pasta and calling it a day is not worthy of a FF title, imo.... and I do feel like it's getting a bit silly.

This isn't about demonizing you or your opinions it's about you calling endgame garbage despite never even playing it. You are uninformed. I didn't call you a filthy casual, no one has. For the record I consider myself quite casual and see nothing wrong with it. If you'd like a compliment to soothe your bruised ego you are absolutely amazing at arguing against these perceived slights and strawmans.

There is no scoreboard, there is only developed opinions and those based on... whatever it is yours are based on. Popular opinion amongst the salty, militant casual OF playerbase perhaps?

I'm not saying someone can't believe endgame is trash. I'm not even defending it and saying it isn't trash in this instance. I'm saying you are not qualified to deem it trash because you haven't participated in it. Would you review one video game by playing another in the same genre? Because that's essentially what you're doing.

By all means keep spreading this lack of awareness, I'm bored enough to keep calling it out for what it is.
